I agree, and I'd also point out including Newble in a deal costs CLE double since they are over lux.
Financially, I don't think that CLE is a good fit for a PG that's going to cost $14.5 mil next season, and especially Kenny Thomas too. CLE needs to focus on improving its team by trading prospects, not taking on other teams financial problems.
It's hard to do when you don't have any!
All the reports I have read state that Ferry has targeted Bibby, and Bibby specifically. I can see why as well. He along with Hughes and James would be a very solid trio and would seemingly work well. Bibby plays off the ball so well that it would be dream come true for Lebron, plus it would take a ton of pressure off of Hughes. I don't see any other PG's on the market that would take the Cavs up a notch in terms of playing style and possible reward.
Another point that needs to be stated, most of the salary going out equals that going in, to the Cavs cap wouldn't be all that much worse after the deal. Plus Bibby is off the books after next year and if re-signed would be on a deal starting at probably half the cap number in year one.

So basically you want a legit number 2 option in his prime for a crappy player with an even worse contract. Are you on crack? Bibby came back from his injury and has been playing really well. He'd be a huge upgrade at PG for the Cavs and better than anyone besides LeBron on that team.

That should tell you something.
I understand your point about salary going out almost equals the salary going in, but that's specificly why I said Ira Newble shouldn't be in the deal, because that's not matching, and would make that portion of Bibby's price double in lux penalties. Instead of paying $14.5 mil for Bibby in 2008-09, they'd be paying $18 million.
When CLE gives Gibson his raise, and fills its roster, they are looking at being over $80,000,000 in salary next year.

No I'm not on crack, sorry to disappoint you. Cleveland is the team that is still winning with this crappy player. Cramento is the place that is five games under .500 and going no place. Your huge upgrade is not getting it done. Therefore, Cleveland can demand what it wants. Cramento is the place that needs to improve more.
Who knows, the one thing no one mentions about Hughes is he averaged 20 a game when he had Arenas shooting from the outside. When Hughes got on a team with a star that needs the ball to dominate and he sucks. If Hughes is turned loose from Bron, onto a team with good outside shooters, his game would improve dramatically.
Too bad Cramento has no outside game either. I understand why your so angry! Maybe, you guys should look for a third team in this deal who has a load of outside talent that needs a slasher like Hughes who is also a good defender and is big for a guard. What team needs that type of player? I know Chicago. Lots of outside shooters, all smaller, not much defense. There's a thought. Maybe Hinrich in a threeway going to Cramento in return will help solve your anger.
