I love Sabonis but he isn't worth 5 FRPs...this is crazy.

Dont think RWIII is worth 2 1sts with his injury history.

What player on a rookie deal could be traded for Malachi Flynn? Would Flynn for Usman Garuba be plausible? What might Dallas add to Frank Ntilikina for Malachi Flynn?

Unrelated, what's going on with Rui Hachimura these days?

Maybe on Garuba but only because he's been disappointing this far. Only 19 ofc so a ton of time to turn it around. Doubt the rockets punt on him for a 4 year older player already but I wouldn't say it's impossible. Think he put on too much weight in preparation for the NBA, a lot less fluid than he looked even in the Olympics.
I was high on Garuba (when they traded up for Sengun I was hoping they were picking Garuba) but this far it's looked clunky

Why would Dallas have to add anything to that? Frank has a lot of flaws but has a proven defensive skill on a minimum deal, Flynn hasn't shown a thing.

Interesting. I'm still high on him as a prospect and I think he'd fit really well with what the Raptors are trying to put together. Maybe this is an under the radar surprise trade!

Because Jalen Brunson is about to leave, Malachi has shown some things (he was rookie of the month last April) and he just can't get on the floor because he's tiny. Fred's the only small player allowed to play for the Raptors.

Malachi is slashing 35/27/51. That's ... pretty ****ing bad. I can't see any team willing to give up anything and risk it for him.

Last season was better for him. I think he prefers temperate or even humid climates found in Texas and Florida.

I don't think Brunson leaving is foregone. He might of course but I expect Dallas to make a competitive offer to keep him.

Has he had Lasik yet? That seemed to help Rudy

Oof I didn't know he looked that bad, just thought he had fallen behind in the rotation

Malaichi Flynn is the new Chris Boucher IMO. I keep seeing him pop up in trade discussions as if he's a valuable commodity that teams should want (when he's not), just like Boucher kept popping up all over the place in the summer. It's like playing whack-a-mole with these two, lol. :D

It's tough because he really only gets random spot minutes.

But the clear issue to me is his shot. His defense is solid, his intangibles are there (deflections, passing, rotations etc).

His shot just ... got worse somehow.

Boucher is a valuable commodity though. Expiring yes, but valuable.

And energy big who can shoot a bit, block shots, etc.

Slow start, but his last 20 games have been solid.

Flynn types are the easiest to find in the NBA. I don't see anyone giving value for him.

Flynn was drafted 29th and will be down 2 years on his rookie contract, while shooting terribly so far in his career.

I think he’s maybe netting a top 45 protected 2nd at this point. He’s mostly salary filler t this moment. It would behoove Toronto to simply keep him and hope they did see something in drafting him they can develop.
