Miami gets a “star” and goes big starting Lauri/Bam/Ware. Leaves 14 mil under tax for 2 roster spots so would be able to add another forward to add to “Bam”, Lauri, JJJ, Simone

Sac gets two forwards for one first.

Utah gets two firsts for Lauri and tries to find a home for Demar?

Feel like after trading Highsmith they need wiggins more than ever. I like powell/rozier/jovic/2029 1st as the basis of a deal for Miami. ideally find a 3rd team for Powell (Milwaukee for kuzma and a swap or protected pick maybe?)

I think Miami needs to find more value than that offer. That is the reason I had them losing Wiggins. And I wouldn’t want to involve picks after 2029 if o were Miami. Wouldn’t want the pick debt extending after Bam/Lauri’s deals. Just don’t think that core is worth doing that.

But maybe that’s JJJ or Jaku? Some three/four team deal could be built. I do like it a lot better for Miami if they can keep Wiggins

…if you wait until December, you could do it without Powell, which is probably the best option for Miami? Rozier/Mitchell/Simone/Jovic/JJJ/29 first could match and keep Miami pretty salary neutral.. Assuming you can find a first for “Mitchell/Jovic/JJJ” and Utah takes that offer.. no depth, but a really solid starting line up.

I feel like there is an asset to Utah missing in this deal and it might require a third team, but some kind of Ingram/RJ for Lauri trade I think balances the Raptors a bit better, and Milwaukee needs a reasonable second option to Giannis and Ingram could be that.

It doesnt balance the raptors better because we need a 1st option/go to scorer badly and Lauri aint that kind of guy. Ingram could be if he stays healthy. Value wise Lauri is worth more than Ingram but i wouldnt pay an unprotected 1st to swap the two of them.

For Milwaukee I dont see them decimating their front court depth to add Ingram. Much simpler to make it Kuzma + value for Barrett for them (but this has been debated in separate threads and consensus is we cant find a common ground to make it worthwhile for both parties)

For Utah looks great to get 2 unprotected 1st and an unprotected swap.

Are the clippers allowed to trade leonard and/or their picks before the league investigation is complete?
I think leonard will get suspended if not void/banned so can clippers trade him instead of having dead cap on their books?

feel like it might be their way of appeasing ballmer while being "harsh" on the clippers. let them trade hteir picks and swaps now to stay competitive/not hurt the fans and ban the 3 swapped picks to match the joe smith penalty.

they'll probably do what I've been saying they needed to do even before this Kawhi thing came up... liquidate for expiring contracts, hope you get some assets along the way, and play the free agency game, hoping to get some stars to the Clippers.

This isn't like breaking up the 2011 Mavs to chase Dwight and Deron. Voiding Kawhi means you have no stars to build around, and only Zubac, Jones, and a couple rookie scale contracts on the books. Utilizing cap space would be an easy decision.

And i have a hard time see it stops at 2 picks, more likely 5-7. The NBA needs to make this hurt so much that noone ever want to risk it again. Say 7 1sts, suspend kawhi, preferably remove balmer, and add whatever kawhi been payed under the table+what luxtax it would have been to clippers cap starting after kawhis deal ends.

Yes Balmer is rich and loves to pay the tax. But the other owners must put their foot down, NBA survives without balmer but can it survive and being known as the WWE of real sports? I doubt it. I cancrlled my leaguepass when tje doncic deal happenend cause it smelt so fishy, getting the no1 pick after that smelled even worse. NBAs credibility is on its last line, and I dont think NBA can afford to lose it
