Simmons/Thybulle for De'Aaron Fox/Harrison Barnes? I think Fox has about had it with the Kings bought could be a big-time player for a contender. Not sure if the Kings would want Simmons.

I think some philly fans are worried their window is too short as it is with Embiid's knees. In which case Cade+ is not a bad consolence?
I mean look at this season and tell yourself as Philadelphia you aren't as good as anyone left standing? And that's with the flaws still in the team construction?
Embiid's window could end early for sure. But it exists. Lakers aren't trading Lebron even though his can't be much longer either.
I don't see how you trade The Process to start a new process. The whole point of that was to find him.

Philly. And blocks the number. Russell is not good at basketball. And making a jump shot does not make him better for Philly.

Not sure why Sacramento would agree to that. Fox is worth more than Simmons, and Barnes is worth more than Thybulle.

I'm not against a Fox for Simmons trade--as core pieces.
But your supposition that Fox has had it with the Kings is way, way, way off. Fox loves the Kings and Sacramento.

I can't see the Kings trading Fox at all, given his level of play and him liking the city.

I'm not so sure I agree with the idea that Philly is close to being a contender. One of the reasons that I wasn't surprised to go out in the second round is that I always thought our Number 1 seed was pretty fake for two reasons. One, Brooklyn obviously was decimated by injuries all year long. Two, I don't feel like we ever got a sense of how good the Sixers were because we almost never played another contending team at even strength. Either we were missing key guys because of injuries or COVID or the other team was without their top guys.

Well other teams are obviously injured too, but if Embiid isn't dealing with a torn meniscus Philly wins the ATL series, and then they play the Bucks, who have their own struggles with cohesiveness and obviously with stopping Embiid. Which means then they are in the finals and we're having a very different conversation from the one we're having today. If other teams are healthy and Embiid is not going forward, it makes it hard to put together a contender, but if you think Embiid can even be reasonably healthy, and with Morey hopefully given some freedom to move as he does, I think Philly should make a bunch of trades and try again with Embiid as the focus.

I guess it depends about who is right on Simmons' value. I mean we've got dudes here suggesting Simmons for DLO or KP with a straight face. If that is really Simmons' value, I don't see the point in trying because Embiid with that trash of a surrounding cast isn't any closer to winner a title individually than Luka or Giannis has ever been (until Bucks sent Tonya Harding to kneecap Kyrie and Harden's legs). It'd basically be the Dame situation in Portland.
But my point on injuries was really just that yeah, Philly was the No. 1 seed coming in but they hadn't really beaten anyone all year.

At some point The Process always goes back to square 1. Circle of life.
I'd be willing to listen on Embiid. And Cade plus is a really good place to be listening.

If Embiid stops launching himself, he’ll stop damaging his lower carriage on bad landings. Then he can just be league mvp for a couple of years. Simmons needs to practice free throws, short midrange shots and bunnies, and then execute them in the regular season or sit. Otherwise, it’s going to take a fungus wielding Central American shaman or pain inducing electrode implants,

As I said in the other Simmons megathread, I would give up all 3 of our main young assets (Rui Hachimura, Deni Avdija, 1st round DC) in a Simmons for Westbrook deal (probably have to take back George Hill to make the salaries work).
Not sure who else would be out there other than Simmons, Beal, Bertrans, and our center tandem (Bryant/Gafford) but I'd be willing to give it a shot to see if we could have some defense in Washington and to move Westbrook to a contender.

All NBA fans keep saying Embiid will have a short career.
So, with this premise, why would the Sixers trade Simmons for young players and or picks?
Is such a kind of trade going to maximize Embiid window?
I don't think so.
I can understand a lateral move (i.e. to trade him
for another All star with differents flaws) and I can understand a package of Simmons+picks and/or youngs for an upgrade.
But trading him for assets makes no sense.
