I suspect that Ibaka was never an option for Lakers. Now I know the timeline of this suggests the Lakers signed Harrell and then the Clippers were forced to pivot to Ibaka, which is probably an upgrade. However, and I admit that I copied this line of thinking from a post I saw elsewhere, I think Ibaka was in the works to Clippers from the jump. It was previously reported that the Clippers were interested in acquiring Terry Rozier from Charlotte. It's also been reported that Charlotte offered Harrell more $ than the Lakers did. Now maybe after failing on Harrell the Hornets pivoted to Hayward but I think it's more likely Charlotte wanted both. That'd require sending out salary. So I believe Clippers' plan was to S&T Harrell for Rozier and then sign Ibaka. Harrell going to the Lakers derailed that but just getting Ibaka is still a solid move.

Yeah, the Turner inclusion was something I saw based solely off Ham’s speculation that it matched salaries. Which failed to realize the BYC issue so it wouldn’t have worked 1 for 1 as he suggested.

I think Turner is a stretch to move for Bogdan. Wishful thinking on a Kings beat reporters part.

Speculation so far. As far as Boston and Sacramento, we haven’t heard anything out of Indy. Boston framed the discussions with their leaks to the Globe. The Sacramento stuff just supposes.

Honestly, I’m wondering if Pritchard isn’t shopping Lamb/McDermott/Leaf packages with either a first or Goga in an attempt to upgrade. We’ve only really heard whispers out of Indy, but McDermott is the guy it sounds like is lost likely to move.

What do the Hawks and Knicks do now? They both have cap to spend. The Hawks need to spend about 10 million more to get to the league minimum.

But Igram? Why don't they re-signed him yet? Pels don't want to give him the max?

I have not heard a word about Ingram. AD said he can wait until the last minute. He has decisions to make on contract length and knows he will get paid.

In any Bogdan for Turner trade Holmes needs to be added to make $$$ work since Bogdan is BYC. This also balances the value for Indy, but they still overpay IMO. I mean I wouldn't give any from the Indy starting 5 for Bogdan. The only trade that makes sense to me would be Lamb, Bitadze + pick(s). Indy upgrades it's 6th, Sacramento gets some young pieces.

Something like that seems more likely. I halfway expect the Hawks to move on if something is not reached today. They could possibly use a veteran backup center with only the rookie Okongwu and 2nd year Fernando behind Capela right now.

BYC would be achieved, but money wouldn’t work for Indy, unless Bogdan signs for less than $13m. Otherwise, Indy is adding a ton of money to the books and heading not just a little into the tax, but rather into the second or even third tier of the luxury tax payments.

Even then, Bogdan is a weird fit, much like Hayward would have been. If we move Turner for him, he’s playing the 3 and Warren is the 4. Both are serviceable defenders, neither good. It’s an all in type move on offense and totally away from defense.

Unless we also move Oladipo before the season, and it would specifically have to be for a big 3/pure 4 that can defend, it seems a terrible fit.

Teams don’t have to reach the minimum salary. Money below the minimum is spilt among players on roster.

And its far from a problem. There are still a few quality players left, there are still tax dumps to be had, you can take the space into the season to use at the deadline.

Neither will end up below the minimum by the time it matters.

I agree its not a problem just a question on what they might do next. Could be a trade later on and a vet backup big is a option. Baynes would probably be the best fit out of who is left. Pretty much the opposite of Capela with his new found ability to hit a three.

Schlenk is probably content right now. I would like Baynes if possible should Bogdan not be gettable,

Yeah I think he's canvassing the league to see if there's something out there, but I highly doubt we're as involved as reports are making it seem. Hayward was the one who had the most interest in coming to Indy and it seems Bogdan's agent is trying to use Indy as some sort of leverage. Both would require relatively major shakeups which goes against what the front office has said and done for the past year.

I expect Bogdan will be signing a Hawks offer sheet a little after 12 ET today. Kings may very well match but at least something is done.

Yeah. Buchanan, the AGM, has been pretty repetitive of looking towards continuity for this next season.
