The thing is that other teams will see Gordon as a starting forward (Portland for one). So Orlando isn't going to sell him at backup prices just because that's how Atlanta sees him.

But even at that, I have him at say a pick at 14-17? Maybe that is a little low and it should be around 11-12? If not, it is a close call if the trade is fair imo of 6 for 15 and 16.
But yeah, it could be AG to Portland, 2 picks to Atlanta type deal instead then.

Portland would be crazy to not take a parts + 16 for Gordon deal.

Good posts. Or MIN at #17.
Combining rumors:

ORL GIVES: Aaron Gordon, #15
ORL GETS: James Johnson, #6
ATL GIVES: #6
ATL GETS: #15, #17, Omari Spellman

Just a hunch, Utah interviewed Maxey and he has reportedly only worked out with one team. I think it's us, and we gave him a promise - I have no real evidence for this.

If this becomes Hayward/14 for Turner/Lamb and Boston provides cash/2nds to dump Leaf on a 3rd team I don't hate it at all for the Pacers(and love it for Boston).
It all depends on if we’re also dealing some like Oladipo as that Hayward deal setup would put us precariously close to the tax and destined to go over the line. I think we’d be $3.1m under the tax with 3-4 roster spots to fill.
Yeah that tweet could be basically saying that there were exploratory talks but the "framework" simply wasn't workable, as has been determined on this board a million times. And I'm still not sure there is an iteration of Myles for Hayward that's not totally unfair to Boston that I wouldn't hate.

I don't see how you get to #6 from #15 with only the #17 pick.
Last year getting to #4 from cost #8, #17 plus 2 2nds.

Unless utah aquires a better pick i don't see someone like maxey being satisfied to be picked around 23 in a weaker draft... i would be aiming higher for that guaranteed money

Re: Random Rumors and Trade Board General Thoughts Thread
Am I the only one feeling overwhelmed by no transactions for months to all these rumors coming out?
Part of me still thinks draft night will be quieter than the rumors make it seem. Having a framework and actually pulling the trigger is a much different thing and on the GM level essentially having a 1 month off-season must make things come way too fast to fully process.
I can see a lot of GM’s taking a deep breath, absorbing the offers and discussions leading up to draft night, maybe 1-3 trades go down and then things get real after draft night.

Feeling a bit pent up NYG? GMs better get a couple of small deals out of the way before draft night or it might get crazy

I'd assume we would try to trade up.

Isn't the old rule of thumb that when you hear a team has interest, it means they had interest but it didn't go anywhere? I think in such an accelerated off-season, there is a big backlog of agreed upon deals already. I think what we're hearing are the losing trade offers.

I don't know if that holds up as well in 2020. Teams have been working on trades for a while but haven't been able to complete or announce them. Extra time for things to slip or for someone to say something like "I may have Gordon* coming my way soon. Would Gordon* plus a 1st interest you for Phteven*?"

LaVine seems like a terrible fit on the Mavs. Decent shooter, but ball dominate and a negative defender. If I'm the Mavs, I absolutely prefer THJ to Lavine. But maybe I'm missing something.

Lowe Post today: Washington GM doesn't know yet when the transaction window opens.
15th or 16th still best guesses and I would be shocked if not one of them, but this is a bit silly.
