Simmons and Harris for Wiggins, Green, and Kuminga could work

I wonder whether JJJ must be included OR the following offer might draw 76s attention, too?
Anderson
Melton/Brooks
Bane
Clarke
1st 2022 via Lakers
1st 2022 via Utah
1st 2023
1st 2025
fillers-expirings (Rondo, Jones, or Juancho)
I am very high on Brooks, so I actually sorta like this. But at the end of the day the 76'ers should be moving Ben for a high caliber win-now player. I still think CJ is the best fit for that considering what is available.
What about this spin on a CJ for Ben swap:
PDX TRADES - CJ McCollum, Derrick Jones Jr, 2022 PDX FRP, 2024 PDX FRP
PDX RECEIVES - Ben Simmons
SAS TRADES - Dejounte Murray
SAS RECEIVES - Derrick Jones Jr, Shake Milton, 2022 PDX FRP, 2024 PDX FRP
PHI TRADES - Ben Simmons, Shake Milton
PHI RECEIVES - CJ McCollum, Dejounte Murray
PDX gets the big shakeup they have needed for ages.
SAS picks White and gets 2 FRP and a cheap rotation guy in Milton
PHI totally revamps their guard rotation and can run with:
G - Dejounte Murray / Tyrese Maxey / Jaden Springer
G - CJ McCollum / Seth Curry / Furkan Korkmaz / Isaiah Joe
F - Danny Green / Matisse Thybulle / Furkan Korkmaz
F - Tobias Harris / Paul Reed Jr / Georges Niang
C - Joel Embiid / Andre Drummond / Charles Bassey
The Spurs aren't doing that deal. They aren't trying to break Murray up into pieces or convert him into "value". I personally wanted to trade Murray for picks or whatever during the draft. It's too late for that now. Moving him should happen, but it needs to be in service of a direct plan toward getting better, and this isn't that.
So what more value is needed to be going to SA for this deal to work? I think it’s one of the more interesting in a long time

Like let’s say Philly adds one more first? So you get shake, 22 Philly, 22 Portland, 24 Portland, and djj. I just love this framework for the Sixers for the first time in a while

MIN - PHI - POR - TOR Trade
MIN Gets:
Ben Simmons
They get a complimentary All-Star that would allow them to win now while KAT and DLo are on their prime.
KAT/McDaniels/Okogie/DLo/Simmons
PHI Gets:
CJ McCollum
Taurean Prince
They get the perimeter shot creator that they need and some defense.
Curry/CJ/Harris/Prince/Embiid
POR Gets:
Paschal Siakam
Powell was a perfect fit in Portland as soon as we was traded and he is a natural SG. This trade allows them to get bigger and play around Dame.
Dame/Powell/Covington/Siakam/Nurkic
TOR Gets:
Anthony Edwards
Malik Beasley
Toronto does a mini rebuild by getting a young talent with superstar potential. They can probably do another trade for someone like Bagley or Turner
FVV/Edwards/Barnes/OG/Boucher

Spurs want Simmons & aren’t tanking plus they have no need of another guard and a bunch of so so picks as they have all their own
Here’s a different framework
Sixers trade Simmons plus young player/pick
Sixers receive CJ & Murray
Blazers trade CJ plus young player/pick
Blazers receive Siakam
Spurs trade Murray plus picks & players (something based around Poetl)
Spurs receive Simmons
Raptors trade Siakam
Raptors receive a boatload of assets from the other teams
Obviously the Raptors component is the most contentious part but I am assuming that they’re not ready to contend yet and want cap flexibility plus young players plus picks going forward

Re: Exploring Green for Simmons
I was just thinking of this. The Harris/Simmons for Wiggins/Green/Kuminga is very interesting. I think GS might need to add.
GS would be awesome with Simmons/Harris
Another idea is just Green/Kuminga for SImmons, which seems fair-maybe Philly sends Kuminga for a win now piece, but would be tough to do matching salary until Dec, when Green can be dealt.
Harris should be fine at SF, with Green/Embiid/Green around him on D

Re: Simmons to Minny, with Chi
True, but if we could get a 1st for White (not sure from whom, maybe OKC?), I might explore this
But, I am totally happy as a Bulls' fan just keeping Lauri on the QO. I think he could start, if given a fair chance, over PWill-or at least play solid minutes off the bench

Re: Exploring Green for Simmons
I actually think this as an overhaul:.
GSW give Green+Wiseman to get Simmons+Tillman
MEM give Anderson+Melton+Tillman to get Wiseman+DJJ
POR give CJ+DJJ to get Harris
PHI give Simmons+Harris to get Green+CJ+Anderson+Melton
I think every team gets something good.
Philly lineup would become deep:
Melton, CJ, Green, Green, Embiid
Curry, Maxey, Thybulle, Anderson, Drummond
Korkmaz, Reed

I like the idea of using Simmons to get two starting guards if Lilliard isn’t available. Something like CJ and VanVleet with Simmons going to the Warriors, Draymond to the Blazers and Kuminga to the Raptors. I think that actually improves the team.
Definitely not a fan of the Sixers trading Simmons and getting both older and worse.

zimpy27 wrote:Hasn't been spoken much on here but there are a couple interesting factors at work here:
- 76ers need defense and playmaking back for Ben
- Draymond just put his FO on blast
Simmons and Draymond have similar impact stats and play similar role except Green is cheaper, older and isn't afraid to shoot.
What do people think of this as a basis for trade?
Who has more value and by how much?
Draymond is not that good of a ball handler these days. He can’t finish at the rim either and he’s shooting worst. He still has a lot of energy. But I’d take my chances and leave draymond wide open like Simmons on the floor and Embiid still has the same issues with draymond as Ben. Except Sixers lose a ball handler and a better rebounder in Simmons
The only thing dray is more reliable than Simmons is free throw shooting that’s it. So unless they can get CJ plus dray. It’s a bad idea.
Cj
Dray
Danny green
Harris
Embiid
That could work as starting lineup and the bench would be
S Curry
Drummond
Kork
Milton
Maxey
Notice I don’t have thybulle in the lineup cause thybulle would be included in the trade as well.

Re: Exploring Green for Simmons
For all the criticism of Ben, he’s still more productive than Draymond in all bar leadership
That’s an intangible that can’t be replaced
Maybe GSW need it, maybe they don’t

Re: Exploring Green for Simmons
I'm kind of warming up to the idea of Draymond (and Looney + Damion Lee) for Ben Simmons.
Draymond is a winner, but man does he get more self absorbed by the minute. And he is definitely on the downside of his career as a 31 year old who has banged around with massive centers for the last 10 years.
Of course Simmons comes off as self-absorbed and immature, and man does GS take a step down in terms of crunch time performance, but I think the upside might be worth it.
Simmons gives GS someone who CAN be (hopefully for them) a guy who can help them win now and win with the young core, due to his age. They just have to hope that a Wiggins-like transformation from lackadaisical dude to valuable player can happen. Otherwise $35M/yr is quite a weight to bear for a guy more into video games and Kardashians than ripping out hearts on the court.
Draymond fits Philly like a glove in terms of the attitude they need to get over the edge. And since their starters are such good shooters (Embiid, Curry, D.Green, Tobias Harris), his lack of range won't be an issue.
I know that people are going to scream that Philly needs more coming back, but tbh, the situation with him and Sixers management is far more toxic. He simply doesn't want to be there any longer, nor does he want to be in Philly where the fans are no doubt hating him every time he steps out of his house.
If the Sixers want to get someone like DeAngelo Russell or CJ McCollum instead of Draymond, go for it. But the Warriors won't be giving up much more than this (maybe a 2022 top-18 protected FRP). The clock is ticking, with the season starting in a couple months. GS can deal with Draymond, but can the Sixers deal with the Simmons situation?
