Third team could get involved if Jackson isn't desired by Jazz.

I like this idea, and would like the Celtics to get in on it and end up with Reggie Jackson.

Perk, Lamb, and 2015 Clippers first (from bos) to Utah

Kanter and Novak to Jazz

Jackson to boston into a TPE

Awful for Jazz, we leave Boston out.

I'm pleased to see some decent offers in here. I was expecting nothing other than, "We'll give you a couple bad contracts and a couple 2nd or maybe a late heavily protected 1st.'

I think at the very least Kanter is worth what Denver got for Mozgov.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

Great thread....I hope non-Jazz fans continue to post realistic trades!

Is the Clippers 1st from Boston protected??? Or does Boston have the Clippers picks.

What teams would benefit most from getting Kanter?

I'd give a Pacers 2016 2nd for him and maybe Copeland. That's about it. Dudes putting up numbers on a trash team

Not really. I mean we could use a big and I like adding young talent to the mix, but there are some issues:

1. We don't have attractive pieces for Utah
2. He doesn't seem to fit well next to Dirk or Tyson which limits his potential role
3. Can we afford to re-sign him and give Tyson, Monta, and Rondo big new deals?

I don't see the Mavs being a match really at all.

As a Jazz fan I think a bunch of these are overpays too. I was sort of expecting to see a single non-crappy pick.

(I would like it to be a 2015 pick, though. I've seen the offers in various threads of Atlanta trading the pick they just got from Minny, but that's a 2017 pick at the *earliest*. Kanter is contributing now, and I don't want to trade him and then have to wait 3-5 years to see any return. That makes more sense for the contending Hawks than it does for us. If it's a future pick we're offered, I'd like to see at least one (lesser) additional short-term piece.)

BTW, Kanter sure played last night like a guy who never wanted to put on a Jazz uniform again. Never seen him look so disinterested.

The more I see of him the less interested I become though. I'd be mildly interested, but he ranks dead last among centers in D RPM and doesn't bring enough offensively to nearly make up for it.

I seriously doubt he will get as much as Mozgov. That was an overpay that they had to make. Kanter's market is smaller due to his contract situation and he doesn't protect the paint for a center. With that said, he does have a market. He is more valued by fans than by GM's. Think Rondo. With that said, I would like to have him on the Hawks. We need a 3rd big, one who can rebound and still has range. Antic needs his minutes severely cut.

Reading jazzfanz, it seems Kanter would be a terrible fit for us. We need high BBIQ players as a requirement and they need to be good at player movement. I'll pass on any Kanter offers.

I guess the big question is, as an RFA, what is he going to get this free agent season?.

4 years, $30 million?, $40 million?, $50 million?

I didn't realize he was a FA.

I don't think Phoenix wants or needs Kanter, given his defensive deficiencies and pending pay-raise. Maybe a 3 team deal where Utah gets IT, Kanter goes elsewhere, and Phoenix gets something.

As a fan I wouldn't want him.

He's a center that just isn't a good rim protector at all. Having that type of player limits what you're team can do SOOO much defensively. Offensively minded centers are bad news unless they're cheap or their great shooters.

Kanter feels like a worse version and Pekovic/ Vucevic/Brook Lopez (lots of rebounds without defense, lots of points without being a great shooter or good enough to run a good offense through). And those types of guys tend to get over paid.

He's going to be a restricted free agent.
