Like Curry and Green a lot for the 76ers. Think Simmons and Embidd benefit more than any other duo with knockdown shooters.

And I think DG can fill Richardson role just fine.

It feels like there is still more to this deal that hasn’t been reported yet. Hard to believe that Seth is worth J-Rich & a solid 2nd

I posted this on the Sixers board already but I'm surprised Sixers fans have been so negative about this deal and I think opinions would be less negative if the trade was announced on a different day rather than right about when we were about to make a pick.

Seth Curry's 3 year RAPM: 58th in the NBA

He's also an elite fit next to Simmons and on a good contract. We saw the incredible results pairing one of the best shooters in the league in Redick with Embiid, and now we get a chance to do it again with Curry. We were never going to re-sign Richardson after the season. I wanted us to sign Curry a few years ago - dude's underrated.

Imo it's a win-win trade.

I understand drafting Terry made RC okay with adding ONE wing with size to the roster. But Dallas has added three actual wings now?

Know you wanted Bey, but I’m really happy with how the night turned out. No way I would have expected this good a night from our FO. Love it.

And Philly, feels like an overpay obviously.. I had Dallas needing to add 18, but getting a second back.. But I do understand Philly had to reset their roster and bringing in Curry’s spacing and his contract is a great step to stabilizing it. Hopefully more deals from Philly this offseason though.

Well technically they did get one. Perhaps they passed on Siddique so they didn't have to keep the whole night at Bey.

Love this for the Mavs. I was wondering why they'd draft Terry with Curry, Brunson, and likely Burke returning.

J Rich is exactly the guy you put with Luka.

All of this. Im really shocked at how negative some are viewing this for Philly. With Ben, Embiid and Tobias, I didnt see any pathways for Richardson staying in Philly— he’s a poor roster fit and his likely salary demands would put them deep in the tax again. Getting an elite shooter on an awesome contract feels like a big win for them; he’s and Green are going to open things up and make life much easier for Embiid and Simmons.

As a Celtics fan, I hate this— Philly got much better yesterday IMO.

I really thought Jrich would work well in philly last year but unfortunately he didn’t and he will probably do better in Dallas but then he’ll opt out and want more money so Curry who is a better fit is also locked in for 3 years on a good deal hence why Dallas had the leverage

I think they'll be better than last year but still not remotely a real contender or anything. So then the problem becomes what's the long-term play here? Curry is 30 and more suited as a 6th man to me. Green is expiring, old, and not unlikely to already be washed up. Unless one of these young players turns into a real difference maker, the team is locked in as Simmons, Embiid, and a bunch of a role players.

Eh... I think the Sixers clearly "lost" the trade from a value perspective, which is disappointing.

With Thybulle and Green on the roster, Curry fills a bigger need. I just don't think he's comparable to JJ. He's not a guy that runs full speed off pin downs and DHOs, he's more just an elite spot up guy that can shoot off the dribble. Shake seems like a guy that has similar strengths and weaknesses...

I'm mostly just underwhelmed. Hopefully Maxey can be something.

Love this trade for the Mavs BTW. Richardson gives them some secondary creation and spot up shooting offensively, while being able to take on the tough perimeter defensive assignments.

Yeah I truly think its win win for both. Philly gets one of the absolute best fits with Simmons, and Dallas gets all those things you said. I think the only potential issues are if J-Rich bolts and if Doc shows any kind of nepotism which could irk the other Sixer players.

Hopefully Dal stays the course and does not undo this good night with a Gallo S&T

weird to see people doing the lol/condescending reactions to this trade. This was one of the more "meh, cool I guess" reactions I've had in a long time. Probably a large part due to realGM predicting this one for a while. Acting as if there's a fleecing by Dallas here is pretty strange. I remember being excited for Josh Richardson when we got him last summer though, too.
