Orlando may not win another game all season.

Remember they turned down two 1st (including a 2021 pick) from Portland.

I'm disappointed that we won't get to see PF Gordon. With Milsap, Green as PF only guys and MPIII best at PF Gordon will again need to move to SF.

I think Aaron Gordon is the most overhyped player on this trade board. As others have said, idea of Gordon > actual Gordon.

That said, I would have thought it'd take either a 1st or Hampton just to dump Harris. So I essentially view this as just one of them for Gordon, which is really fair value.

ORL either sees tons of upside in Hampton and values him higher, or they see the 2017-18 version of Gary Harris as who he really is and think he's super valuable as opposed to the player he's been for 3 years now.

Guess it depends where people valued Gordon in the first place.. I obviously didn’t value him much so I love this for ORL. Think Harris is the kind of player they can flip for a pick next deadline. Meanwhile they also get RJ and a 1st.. not bad at all

Denver dumped Harris on them, gave them a project, and a late first. Dont think its a great return, unless u love RJ.

I like FRP, “bad contracts” that suddenly become OK at the deadline, and think RJ has some upside

Like I said - I don’t think Gordon is that good of a player. So this kind of deal, to me, is a really good one for a rebuilding team. I’m not of the mind that expirings are the best course of action for rebuilding teams. Never have been

I will say I like RJ Hampton more than most.

I come out somewhere in the middle here re: AG. Some people definitely see what they want to see in him rather than what’s there, but he was clearly miscast as a SF/PF and primary scoring option in Orlando.

Let him play the 4 full-time (and maybe some small ball 5) and put him in an off-ball, complimentary role and I really think he could thrive. But maybe that’s just my bias because he’s a local guy.

Pretty much exactly this. He's a nice player, just nowhere near the skillset to be able to carry a bad team as a primary scoring option - however if you put him as a complimentary piece next to some very good players (especially those who can create space and handle the ball) he could be a far better fit. He'll be a solid addition to Denver with their current roster.

Sad to see Hampton included in this. He has shown some nice flashes and the Nuggets were reportedly really high on him, but this is too good for Denver to turn down.

After stealing Grant and Plumlee from you guys, we should donate Wayne Ellinngton.

This is a good deal for Denver, that's really cheap price to acquire Gordon. I am chocked no one outbidded them.

Do you not believe that Gordon can defend Sf’s? Or are you questioning his offensive game as a sf?

Positions are defensive. MPJ is listed and playing pf because he isn’t exposed as bad defensively against the current pf’s as he is against wing players.

Gordon is perfect compliment imo to both Jokic and MpJ because MpJ is offensively a SF. So Ag and him flip flop roles. And with Jokic and his unique game as a “point center” AG gives the needed runner and finisher for Jokic. AG and Jokic flip flop their roles in many ways.

So call the positions what you want. But AG brings exactly what was missing and what allows the Nugs to get the most out of Jokic ajd mpj’s talents

It's more on offense. And you're right that Gordon + MPIII makes sense as a forward combo. Still, with Barton likely needed at SG full-time there really aren't backup SF options other then Gordon and MPIII, so Gordon will likely play a lot with a conventional PF like Milsap or Green.

I think it's fair to conclude that Harris has negative value on his contract, but people are exaggerating how negative IMO.

I'm far from a Gordon fan, but what is Orlando thinking here? Eating Harris' contract and getting meh value as compensation? Terrible trade for the Magic.

Love this trade for Denver. Didn’t think Gordon had much value, but thought he’d have more than that.

But kind of think Denver shouldn’t be done with the deadline. Trading Green for a guard seems obvious? Maybe I’m wrong I don’t pay that close of attention to Denver honestly.

Lamb for Green? I kind of like that. Fans bicker over who needs a 2nd but I like the swap a lot.

So Vucevic/Fournier/Gordon/Aminu
for
Carter/Harris/Porter/Hampton/3 1sts/2 2nds

Im glad to see Magic did the right thing to re-build around younger core in getting good balance of youth(Carter/Hampton)/picks (5 in total)/big expiring (Porter)/flipable contract down the road (Harris)

I agree they shouldn’t be done. Not when you’re now “one move from a title”

I know that’s an exaggeration maybe but the idea of another move maybe being the best thing to do is prob right.

I think it’s pretty clear who their best 4 players and clear starters are now: Jokic, Murray, MpJ, and now AG

Then you have 2 more sure rotation players in Monte Morris and Thrill Barton. I know one is possible and maybe likely to start but I think are much more able to be maximized off the bench

Then you have millsap and green but more importantly the guy they need to surpass them both and become a clear rotation piece and that is Zeke Nnaji. Bolbol I wish the same was possible for. Basically that’s 4 guys to fill what 1 rotation spot and 1 more role with enough mins to even develop?

I have a lot of worry that we all have or at least see too much of on these boards. Loving your own guys and valuing your own players too much. That said the player I think that could be perfect fit as starter #5 and one of the most untalked about but possibly untapped potential is PJ Dozier.

I think Denver is a title contender with the AG trade. Is there anything that could still be done with what’s possible to get from millsap, green, or maybe Barton and then adding if you have to future picks and then I guess if there’s enough coming back then Bolbol or if you had to dozier or esp Nnaji?

RJ Hampton and a FRP seems a good return for Aaron Gordon. Harris's contract is onerous for his production but maybe he improves in Orlando. He'll have a chance!
