He’d also have to sell his newly gained ownership stake in the Utah Jazz, first

I don't know if Hield is going to be exactly what the Lakers are looking for, but the Aminu + Harrell + Kuzma package is unlikely to return anything positive.

Unless Schroder signs for really cheap, I don't see why Chicago would do a Sign & Trade for him.

Kemba Walker maybe. Lakers have decent guards to pair with Kemba. Caruso, THT, KCP.

But who knows. Lakers FO seem to love Kuzma. I don't get it.

I don't think the math for Kemba makes sense

Sign and Trade can't have over 1 guy, right?

If so, then it wouldn't work

If Trez opts in, could do him, Kuzma, and Pope for Kemba and a young filler guy if needed

Let Dennis walk for nothing (sign and trade would be impossible with hard cap apron) or sign him and then tell him he will be traded at deadline

Really tough spot rn with all these FA's and THT too

Dennis S&T and our 1st for Lowry would be nice

I really don' t want Dennis back

Need a #3 who can shoot it and more consistent

I think nobody is untouchable besides Bron and AD

If I could keep 1 other guy it would be AC (for a fair price)

Then its between Pope and Gasol

Pope gets paid a decent amount though to be inconsistent

I don't believe there is a restriction on adding players to a sign n trade player for salary matching.

Hard cap apron is only in effect for team receiving the sign n trade player. So Lakers can freely sign n trade Dennis out without hard cap.

But bringing in a sign-n-trade player like Lowry would cause a hard cap.

Oh so if you sign and trade someone you aren’t hard capped if that guy is under contract?

Would make things way way easier

Dennis and Kuzma/Pope for Kemba and a young guy/2nds

Pope or Kuzma, Alfonzo and our 1st for Barnes or another big wing

A lot of options open up here if this is the case and can include multiple guys in sign and trade

I don't know if the roster construction is that dire, or at least it's less of an issue than the Lakers' 2 stars being hobbled. For all we know, the Suns are a Finals/championship team and the Lakers went up 2-1 before getting a negative amount from Davis over the final 3 games (which is not to put blame on him for trying to fight through it, but they would've been better off assuming he'd be out a couple weeks minimum and adjusting from there rather than having him out there as a liability).

Horton-Tucker is a nice young player, but he should probably be on the table if they re-sign him and are looking to upgrade midseason next year.

Meh. If it helps me enough, I don’t really care about a team out West.

fair enough. I certainly agree that if we're trading a starter I want them to go West, but I'm happy the Lakers lost.

Are people for real with the trade Lebron blow it up talk? Just shuffle the deck around LeBron and AD, still one of if not the best duo in the league. Let the guys rest up for a full offseason and run it back with hopefully those 2 healthy

Not a whole lot to do. They need shooting/spacing and are middle of the pack in rebounding. Who wants to chase a ring with Broni/AD?

The problem is AD's long term health, Kuzma's deal and Shroeder likely bolting in FA. Their depth is going to be decimated unless they can replicate what they did in 2020. However, we saw what happened when they reloaded this past offseason. FA signings are just as much about fit as they are about talent.

I kinda think they should stand pat. They were the consensus top pick to win it all when they were healthy. The failure of the team wasn’t related to the pieces not fitting, just that their main guys were hurt and their other guys weren’t good enough to carry the load which is true of most teams.

I think checking in with Shroeder to make sure he’s on board with his role before committing money to him and maybe packaging Kuz and a pick for wing depth are the main things. I’d try and keep trez and Marc even with rough seasons. I think they can play together and both provide enough fire power at the 5.

I love crapping on this team as much as anybody but this is a health issue not a roster construction issue.

They need 3D role players and probably a better facilitator than Schröder. How you go about it immediately in their situation though, being capped out and few assets.

Said in reference to Utah's trade assets in a potential Doncic deal.

99% agree. A long offseason to heal, and we’ll be talking about “Man, Lebron found the fountain of youth!” And AD will be himself. I do think there are roster construction issues, but the good thing is that their further down the roster, and revolve around some of the role players. It won’t be easy, but the Lakers can make it work with long-term deals or eating contracts. I mean, if the Wizards make moves, could the Lakers somehow snag Bertans for a KCP or Kuzma based deal? Bertans could be hidden defensively with Lebron and AD, and would just light it up from beyond the arc and quick catch and shoot type attacks. Doesn’t have to be star type deals, for sure, though.
