Something like this is what I see.

But Ayton makes little sense on a team that seems to be able to keep KP if they pay him enough and has Gafford. So has to be bigger.

But overall I agree with your

Either Ayton is worth more than we all thought or Miami is trying to low ball Washington. And Ayton really shouldn’t be worth more than we all thought.

Well I had Ayton worth around pick 10 in this draft.
I think he's better than Herro. Do you?

Miami could offer Lowry, Oladipo, Jovic, 17, MIA27FRP

That's also a decent deal if Wiz want to tank hard. It's possibly better for them not to get a non-rookie guy like Herro or Ayton. Picks may be best.

If they trade Ayton and Shamet

KD 48 million
Beal 47 million
Booker 36 million
CP I believe has 14 million guarantee
Payne 6.5 million

That’s 155 million and the second tax apron is 179.5?

At least 10 slots to fill? That’s just 24 million left over for those roster spots.

NBA vet minimum is 2.7 million.

The math says 10 vet minimum guys and they still exceed the 2nd apron and all the penalties that go with it.

CP can be stretched over 5 years at $3.2M per. Vet minimums over 3 years will count $1.98M against the cap. Second round picks and undrafted guys are less. Also have Ish Smith at $1.9M currently on the roster.

KD/Booker/Beal/Payne/Smith = $142M
First apron is +/-$168M
Suns room = +/-$26M for 8 or 9 players.

That is 3 million a player for those 9 spots. It’s essentially vet minimum level dudes rounding out the rosters

Say they sign two players for the MLE and one for the BAE. That’s $16.5M + $142M = $158.5M for nine players. That leaves $9.5M for 5 guys. It gets tight but they will have room to fill out the roster. And that’s if the deal is Ayton/Shamet for Beal. Might be different.

I'd expect Gafford to go the Phoenix in this deal. Washington wouldn't need him but Phoenix desperately would.

Paul + Ayton + 2029 Suns 1st for Beal/(Wright or Morris)/Gafford

Certainly does feel light for Washington unless they're valuing Ayton a lot (or some 3rd team is brought in that values Ayton a lot)

That’s where trading an opted in Porzingis comes in.

I think if it’s a Suns deal it’s just a money saving move with a pick swap or two? Wiz can get under the cap pretty easily and be able to take in CP at only $15.8M guaranteed.

Still think Miami will have the better offer but if Beal forces his way to PHX I guess that’s better than nothing.

Considering his salary I can't imagine any other teams outside these 2 would have interest. The contract really does limit his actual trade value.

He would be a nice fit on Miami though.

Washington making calls around the league trying to see what Ayton is worth in a 3 way. Finds out he is worth not much and takes Miami's offer. Beal would likely be option one in Miami while option 3 in Brooklyn, I just cannot see this not ending up with Beal in Miami. Just using Phx for leverage is all I see here.

Lowry/Dipo/18 or Jovic/ future LP 1st is the deal I see happening.

Phx probably has a CP3 deal lined up if they trade for Beal right?

There is no way CP3/Booker/Beal/KD make any bit of sense.lmao

How is this even remotely close? Beal is better than cp3 at this juncture. And Gafford on his deal is better than ayton on his. This is straight trash tbh

Yeah I like this deal better for Wiz.

Lowry, Oladipo, Jovic, 18, MIA27FRP

That's the winning package if offered by Heat. Wiz get expirings and a couple young players next season. They tank hard.

Only way they take Ayton is if they really believe he could expand his game on another team

Suns would be wild but Heat have more value IMO

Only way this works is if Ayton is flipped to Dallas for #10

Washington
#10
Bertans
McGee
Paul

Phoenix
Beal

Dallas
Ayton
2016 GMAT Blazers

Howard/Nene/
Griffin/M.Leonard/T.Jones
Porter/Marc.Morris/J.Johnson

It would have to be 28 unless OKC is looped in. We owe them a protected pick in 25 that conveys, one way or the other, in 26.

Maybe a three way deal where Jovic goes to OKC and the pick protections get waved and it's just a 25 unprotected pick? Better for Miami in that they can then trade 27 to Washington, and still have 29 to use with Herro to try and land a power player to pair with Bam. Washington saves more money. OKC gets a nice young prospect...

A deal like that makes sense the only thing I’m really doing if I’m Washington is pushing a little bit to try to get the 2029 1st in some form.

Theyre more likely gonna be forced to waive and stretch him. Not sure how much you can get for Paul's 30 mill when they have no assets to attach to it. Maybe a team like Atlanta takes the oppurtunity to get off Collins contract and swaps him straight up for Paul? It would be a disgusting cap situation for PHX, but pursuing Beal means theyre ok with that
