Reaves is a really good player and I don't think you get him for IQ or Sarr or WCJ. I don't know why he's so disrespected here.

I don't see which team would actually interested in trading for Austin Reaves. His skill set isn't really needed for most teams and teams that do need his skill set can simply get far better versions of him anyway because they have a lot of assets. Even along guys that somewhat comparable to him and also on expiring contracts, they all will demand less money come next off season. I easily take Simons over Austin just based on the fact he isn't go demand nearly as much money next off season. Same with Colin Sexton. Coby White is undoubtedly a better player and even he will very likely be on a cheaper contract next off season. I simply don't see a Austin Reaves trade that makes sense for the other team.

A guy can score at all 3 levels and playmake as pnr ball handler but his skill set isn't needed for most teams.

He averaged 72 games/year in the 4 years before this one (including some tank sitting games in year 4). Also sat more than a few this yeaR because we were tanking

Overall 324/5 years is about 65 gp/year. Bit too early to call him injury prone.

He is worth more to us than on the market not interested in trading him

True, bit too early to say prone. But certainly injury is costing value.

Sarr value is hard to gauge I think, you could see potential or you might not.

The Lakers get a 3D guard and a FRP to go for a center.

The WOLVES get the guard they need who fits long-term and in terms of age and skill set.

How about Ant continues to works on playmaking this summer, DDV gets more established, and MIN a doesn’t have to risk assets on a guy that might walk for nothing?

I'd have no interest in Reaves to the Wolves. Part of that is due a skewed opion based on watching him absolutely suck against the Wolves for most of the games in the last year or two. Add in his need for a new contract and lack of defense and this should be an easy pass for Minnesota.

Faco's shtick is that every Laker player is worthless. Perfectly reasonable when discussing any non-Laker player

Couldn't agree more. The Timberwolves trading for Austin Reaves would be a big mistake. They're far better off just trading for a better/cheaper version of him like Coby White/Anfernee Simons, go big game hunting for point guard like Darius Garland/Trae Young, or simply run it back.

One of the best ideas I've read on TnT -- great for the direction/needs of both teams

Totally agree. But I proposed this idea a while back and Wolves fans hated it

Reaves just averaged 20/5/6 on 62 TS% playing behind two superstars (and a team that shifted from AD to Luka ball midseason). He averaged 17 PPG on 69 TS% in the only deep playoff run of his career.

I find it very hard to believe any team would value Anfernee Simons over him.

The CBA is a deal killer

It's WCJ + Anthony Black + a couple of 2nds

I’d consider it but again, what is Reaves getting paid and can the Magic afford it alongside Paolo, Franz, Bane, and Suggs? Likely not.

Reaves to the Magic is dead IMO, they need to invest their remaining cap in a center not a guard.

Lakers wouldn't use picks but this is a starting point to work with another squad. I think Jabari is a decent fit as small ball C.

I was thinking of something around Bari+Allen to LAL, Cam Johnson to Cleveland, 10 to BKN, Reaves to Houston

Cleveland owed a little something here tho. Maybe Houston helps find them a depth center?

Edit: actually think Cam for Allen is dead because of the second apron and Cam making $1m more

That's a extreme level overpay. No chance Austin Reaves is worth anything close the 10th pick and Jabari Smith. At that point, may as well just be willing to attach another 1st round pick or two to go after Trae Young or even Devin Booker. The Rockets simply have way too many assets to settle for a role player that's demanding a huge money come next off season.

I think Brooks is key to Houston success. I can't believe Brooks is less important than Reaves who's seeking 30m per.

His contract status is an issue. He is definitely more valuable than WCJ.
