What are they aggregating? Isn’t it just KD they’re sending out for lesser salary?

Houston likely preferred to use 10 and keep future trade ammo. It's what I would have wanted at least

I need to know whether Durant is extending, and for how much, before I pile on the Suns here. I do hate that they're taking back Green with Booker and Beal already on the books.

Vleet, Amen, Sengun, KD, Eason or Jabari- 33 minutes each. Flex up a little when people are out.
Whitmore and Reed - 18 minutes each.
Adams 12 but more in playoffs.
Looks like a good rotation. Have Holiday (maybe Tate, Old Green) for junk minutes.
Probably want a backup center to limit Adams minutes if cutting Landale.

Absolute robbery for Houston on paper but I guess I get it. New CBA means any team that trades for a giant salary player like Durant is going to be hard capped at first or second apron and teams that typically go nuts for older stars like him are the ones with enough good players signed where that’s an issue.

Will be interesting to see what Green is inevitably flipped for. I think he sucks and is way overpaid so I figured HOU would have to send more picks as much for using his trash contract as the filler as for KD. But if they can sucker some team into taking that albatross then I guess no harm no foul to Phoenix. But any team that takes him on without crazy incentive is idiotic. If this CBA is so restrictive that a guy like Durant is only worth this then you can’t take on bad players like Green for $30m.

So… Does Memphis trade the 2026 Phx first for 10th?

Sounds like phoenix is talking to agents of players in that range so they want to keep their pick. Also doesnt sound like they plan to tank next year?

Would memphis trade bane package (+) for booker though is my q

A lot of teams should be lining up for Jock Landale. Excellent backup big, marginal, ok starter.... too good to be a 3rd stringer.

I don't think PHX would take that deal for Booker. It lets them tank next year (though WAS can swap if the pick is better than a top 8 WAS pick), but then they don't control their picks beyond that. Feels like they are aiming for the treadmill for a bit.

Great deal for Houston, imo.

I dont like Booker with Green, so I hope Phoenix has some idea of what they're trying to do there.

I think they would have preferred to not have taken his contract on, but it wasn't a dealbreaker for them.

Phoenix can’t currently tank for 6 more seasons. so wouldn’t expect there to be talk about it? Would be really weird to hear them talk about it honestly.

I don’t think Memphis should trade the Bane package for Booker, I do not think Ja/Booker is a duo you want to back. But do think Booker is worth the Bane package if he was available?

I would look at Ja+ for Booker and then balance the roster for Memphis. But that might be a minority opinion. Phoenix trading Ja for the best asset possible or even doing the Realgm and getting their picks back for Ja from Houston..

I think Phoenix needs to be looking at upside, not just salary. Their salary situation is terrible the next two years no matter what thanks to Beal/Booker. No reason to give up actual value to dump salary as long as they stay under the second apron imo.

But if Utah adds, there’s probably a deal there? No idea what Kessler is worth honestly.

Right below this thread now airing on RealGM.

In a recent episode of The Athletic NBA Daily, NBA insider Sam Amick said the Houston Rockets and Phoenix Suns haven't had any recent trade talks involving Kevin Durant.

Seems good for PHX.
Brooks is a good player, Green might still have some upside and 10th pick in a good draft. This is better than I expected, but also pretty reasonable from Houston’s perspective….though I question the move. I’d have rather kept 10 if it was me.
Jordan Walsh goes top 10 in a 2023 redraft.
