I think your argument is completely flawed.

1. How can you say others will underavlue your players because they don't see the Kings enough or know enough about the Kings relative to King fans, but then say you are able to objectively value the players coming back to you in trades?

I did not said that. Obviously, I'm an objective Kings poster that has fairly good knowledge around the league but that doesn't means that I know player X true/honest value though. I just only know my players true/honest value due to seeing the Kings for countless of years.

Using your logic, it's a two way street. Non-King fans will undervalue King players (more like King fans overrate their own players as does any fanbase), while King fans would theoretically undervalue the incoming players as well since they don't get to see those incoming players enough, don't get to see what they offer to their teams, etc. etc.

Perhaps but undervaluing and being unfair are two separate things though. Undervaluing is something we as posters can change. That is why I'm suggesting the "Honest/True Trade Value" thread. That thread will be compromise by many objective fans from their teams and are able to discuss their players in a objective manner. And being unfair is just following the usual misconceptions and being ignorant in general. That is also another reason why I'm pulling through this idea.

2. This is the general trade baord. If you don't think 3rd parties have a good perspective, stay on your team board and discuss trades only Sacramento fans propose to each other. I'm sure those would be extremely objective.

I did not said that either. I said there is a group of people that have good knowledge about player X and the (objective) fans of the team from player X agrees with that assessment. But the other group of people are composed by subgroups: 1) People kinda have an idea of player X value but not too sure 2) People don't have a clue about the value of player X and typically are homers and etc 3) Anything in between

For number one, that is the majority of the people here in the trade board. But there are people from group number one are willing to hear from the objective fans of player X and would learn more about that player and his value. Which is the best case scenario and are typically reasonable fans and fairly knowledgeable. But there are the other people from that same group that refuse to acknowledge the players value and would follow several misconceptions despite being fairly knowledgeable posters. And for group two, I don't have to explain. I'm pretty sure you know the characteristics of a homer. And group three, it varies from poster to poster.

3. 3rd party perspectives are generally considered usefull in real life situations. Companies hire consultants to come in as an independent 3rd party to examine situations and come up with improvements or solutions. Often times a fresh perspective is what is needed to truely see what is or what it not going on in certain situation. Consider other posters consultants. They get to come in with a different background and set of experiences based upon what they see from their teams and help apply it to yours. I consider myself lucky. In addition the standard NBA broadcasts of TNT, ABC, ESPN and NBA Tv, I also get regional coverage of Knicks, Nets and Celtics. Because of this I get to see a wide variety of teams, players and situations and thus I think I have a pretty fair gauge of a wide range of player's values. Do I get to see Sacramento much? Obviously less than my regional teams, or teams like LA and Cleveland, but that's not to say I or others have not seen enough of them to have enough to work with when making trade proposals.

Of course. I'm glad that you are exposed to all those teams in any case. I did not marginalized the "poster consultant". Heck, you are under group number one. You have a solid knowledge of a player but kinda unsure regardless but you are willing to hear from reasonable and objective fans from player X and at the same time you are learning from arguably the best posters from that player X's team.

4. Your team is not very good, nor have they been very good for a while and for a multitude of reasons. Yes coaching, injuries and experience come in to play, but the single bigeest reason is clearly the players themselevs. Other posters know this as well. They realize Hawes and JT are young, they realize Kevin Martin was injured part of this season, etc. This is all taken into account, but at the end of the day is still pretty obvious the talent is not there and/or not performing.

I'm not going to argue this point. Because you are basically correct. The Kings are arguably the least talented team in the league. There I said it. I'm not going to sugarcoat it or anything because its basically a fact. Outside of Martin/Hawes/Thompson, we have a bleak roster IMO. Any talent we obtain through the draft would be huge. e.g. Blake Griffin, Ricky Rubio
