I said Bembry might be playing overseas this year. I was close, he is not in the same country

WCS runs the floor well and offers some switching potential defensively that's hard to get from a center. He is what he is, but has some tools.
Yes he's a back of the rotation big man. Great. Dallas has plenty mid and back of rotation players on the roster. They needed guys who improved their best 5. Richardson does that. Then they needed some guys who improved their best 8. Still only Richardson. Then they needed some guys who improved their best 10. Still just Richardson.
That's disappointing for a team on the rise with a traditionally aggressive FO/ownership.
This isn't about trashing WCS or Johnson or Burke or the draft picks. I'm actually excited about Terry--eventually. This is about them not adding the higher end talent they still need. I love love love Maxi and Dorian. But they can't be top 5 players on your roster and you expect to contend unless your 2nd guy is both better and more dependable than KP. I mean I think Luka is going to own this league one day, but that day is not today. He needs more help and the sooner he gets it the better habits he can start building.
Right now this most efficient offense ever is poor at end of games and its because Luka doesn't trust anyone else enough. Dallas needs more high end guys.
Well thy didn’t exactly have the cap room to sign anyone this off season. I believe they tried to obtain a 3rd star but you don’t want to make a stupid deal either. Their team should be vastly improved on the defensive end. To do that and still improve your cap situation next off season is pretty great if you ask me.

I mostly fall along this line of thought for the Mavs. It's tough to watch other teams make big moves and trade around, but the Mavs still got what they needed the most, which is wing depth and defense. I feel like adding all of these different priced assets allows them flexibility in trades at the deadline. They'll have had some time to see what they have and what they still need. Probably easier to find a third star at the deadline or next offseason than it was this FA period.

There will definitely be better options for them at the trade deadline and next off season. Giannis isn’t the only in that’s a free agent next off season. I was sad to see Tatum re-up with the Celtics because that takes out of next years FA class but it’s good to see a star choose to stay in the city that drafted him.

Not good, we heard the ownership group was not putting any pressure on McNair for the draft, well things may have started to go back to the "old ways"
According to Amick, read the boxes.
Looks like there are questions all ready about Vivek and his son meddling. I'm going to wager it's one of the minority owners filling Sam in.

Definitely not good if Vivek is meddling, though it's not 100% clear what he is pushing McNair to do. Either way he needs to be more Steve Ballmer and less Mark Cuban: stay out of operations and just be a very, very wealthy cheerleader.
On the other hand, Amick seems to think that Haliburton worked his way to Sacramento. If true, that *is* encouraging; I can't imagine the Kings have heard that from a lot of desirable prospects the last few years. Fox's bloom may be having a nice ripple effect.

If you want to read more about Haliburton trying to get to Sacramento, supposedly his agent told Lowe about it some.
Can read about it here.

As far as the FA thoughts with meddling and what Amick mentioned...
Vivek seems pretty fond of buddy, maybe this whole Bogi situation resulted in interference by the owner. Perhaps they were considering trying to move Buddy before they'd agree to match. Something like that.

Yea, reading between the lines, sounds like Vivek and Aneel don't want to trade Buddy. And if Buddy remains a King, I look forward to him coming off the bench in the 2h when Haliburton is inserted into the starting line up.
Also, do think there is a 50.5% chance the Kings match Bogi and keep both Buddy and Bogi--not because McNair wants to, but that may be the only way to trade one or both later, because of Vivek's fondness for Buddy. I'd rather just let Bogi walk and trade Buddy as well.

I don't hate the Mavs off season. You can't make a big trade if no one wants to trade for your assets. Lets be real, THJ was it once Curry was traded. THJ and Wright are not great assets.
They got their SF in Richardson for a test drive; which is something they have needed for a while. Johnson is a great enforcer to have. As far as attracting a big fish vet minimum like Gasol or Serge, they are not going to compete with the Lakers and Clippers on that front. Its just the way it is.
I think they did pretty well considering they had no big money to spend and Curry was their best asset.

So what are some of the big potential dominos left this offseason? A few that I can think of:
-Does Gobert get an extension?
-Does John Collins get an extension?
-Does SAC match on Bogdan?
-Does LAC trade for a PG (maybe Rozier)?

a thought here ... I think Denver fans are going to be pleasantly surprised ... (those who don't know) with Facu Campazzo ... I don't know what his adjustment to the NBA will be like ... but he's an absolute elite Playmaker, and a great defender

If Bogdan falls to the Hawks, I see Collins getting offered something like Turner, Sabonis, A Gordon almost immediately afterwards. If he wants more than 22 million a season, I think the Hawks let it go into the next off season.

After seeing some of the contracts this offseason, I think he will stick to his desire of more than 22m.

Collins will definitely look for more than 20. I mean ATL just gave Gallo 20m. Hard to see that and say "yes pay me the same."
I am on the look for a trade train for Collins, but go into the season and see how things work out. Tough thing is looking around the league the usual suspects have their PFs. Minny is an interesting option but they don't really have the pieces the Hawks would want back (unless you move all the kids for Towns, but no one wants to have that conversation right now). I'd look at a Beal trade too, but with Bertans getting that deal hard to see the Wizards trading for another PF.

You don't pay Gallinari to allow yourself to trade Collins.
