He'll be a great fit in Dallas

If the Knicks get him vs FVV would it be that bad of a turn in directions? Thibs likes his vets so if they can add Gallinari also, is that a 8th seed in the East? I like FVV better due to his youth but Dragic could save them some cap space to sign more players.

I don't think they can get to the 8th seed with that lineup. I don't think a team that uses either FVV or Dragic as the lead ball handler can thrive. I can see Indiana dropping out of the playoffs, but I expect the Hawks and Wizards (assuming they're all healthy) to be easily better than that potential Knicks team.

In separate news, I was a borderline All-Star last year despite sitting out the year due to a stalemate in contract negotiations.

I have you making an All Star game before DeAngelo Russell.

Raise your hand if you ever thought the day would come when this board needed a Danny Green Containment Thread.

I am amazed at how quiet things are less than a day from the league opening up transactions again. With over 9 months since the last time teams could do much of anything in terms of their rosters, I thought there would be a lot more leaked rumors getting put out. Even with the current lack of info coming out, I am really excited to be able to discuss meaningful rumors and actual moves again.

When Lakers had him you couldn't even get the Hawks to absorb him into their capspace. Once he left the Lakers he's like the hottest ticket in town. :D There are probably other reasons but this is a trend with ex Lakers I've noticed in the past year.

Hawks fans still don't want him into cap space. Dallas fans have been as positive on him as they were before. Lots of spam trades as he is likely to be flipped, but I don't think I have seen anyone change opinions on him.

Hawks might be the ones paying Rondo.

This probably involves giving OKC more flexibility/choice around the 2021 and 2023 (lotto prot) 1sts owed by Miami for it to make sense. Filler is likely Iggy going to a third team like GS or Kelly O, probably also to a third team if he opts in

I really don’t see a motivated Rondo showing up in ATL. Maybe he’s a good vet presence, but seems risky if there’s decent money involved.

Would fit a previous theme with having later in career players around like Carter.

He has played for Bulls, Pelicans , Kings , and Lakers since Dallas. Think some coaches are more accepting of his playing style.

Its not my trend. I did not want him when he was with the Lakers. I do not want him now that he is with the Thunder.

Why would you pay for playoff ROndo when you're unlikely to be in the playoffs? :)

I kid, but if true then Hawks must be planning on a deep playoff run this season. Expecting a big trading period for them.

If this does happen I would hope it is with feedback from Trae. I like Rondo as a cheap fit but I also have the same concerns.

If they get Rondo for 2 years 6 million a season and its kosher with Trae, that is not horrible. Lets compare that to one season of Green at 14.6.

Rondo leaves a lot more wiggle room to sign a scorer/shooter or two.

Well because his career is almost over maybe. But he enjoyed his time here in Sacramento and would of stayed if we offered him multi year security.

I'm not sure the Dallas Rondo is the same man.
