Yeah Bayless is a useful 3M expiring for a win now team, that's why I threw him in there. And I guess I would beg to differ on McGary, sure he wasn't Davis untouchable but a lot of Thunder fans scoffed at the notion of moving him.

But overall, I understand your position.

I don't know about "a lot", but I know one in particular. He's the same guy who I'd bet wouldn't trade Dion either (though I haven't seen him in forever). I'd love Bayless tbh, I'd do something around McGary for him.

If you're talking about me I never claimed McGary was untouchable and liked several trades with him going out. And even I'm done with Dion.

Philly could really use Waiters, to negate this win streak.

The Nets could use him. Waiters for a potato. At this point, the potato has more potential than Waiters. Baked potato, French fries, mashed potatos, ect. Better than Waiters.

You want to laugh at something, before this season... Waiters over his career has shot worse than Antoine Walker for his entire career... lets reflect on that...the guy plays a brand of basketball that is beyond horrible, but hey... he is shooting 80% from the line this season. He is barely beating Walker this season over his career 3 FG%

Jack + Sloan for Waiters + Novak (would you give us Morrow or Augustin?)

Sloan has an unguaranteed contract so he can be cut immediately, and Jack's 2nd year is unguaranteed.

or

- Waiters $5.1m to the Nets
- Ellington $1.5m, Sloan $900k (unguaranteed) to the Thunder
- Karasev $1.6m to the Jazz

Thunder save $3.6m on the cap. Nets take a chance on Waiters. Jazz take a look at Karasev (they'd cut Chris Johnson).

Something like (with fillers)

Mayo/Plumlee to LAC
Crawford/Bayless to OKC
Waiters/McGary/Wilcox to Milwaukee

LAC swaps guards and gets a backup big upgrade, OKC picks up two vets for their playoff push, Milwaukee eats up the prospects  .

I'd cut LA and do Waiters/McGary for Bayless/Plumlee, Crawford is one of about 5 guys in the NBA I want on OKC less than Waiters.

Both of those are not appealing and not useful for our team. I like Bass, but PF is not our most-needed position. Huertas is not good. Lou is a chucker. And McGary is our only easily-moveable piece with any value.

So you're fan base speaks very lowly of waiters and would dump him just to dump him even though hes essentially expiring but expect good offers?

2 things:
1. The front office wouldn't.

2. As lowly as I think of Dion, the junk coming back was worse.

At best this is rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

McGary is buried on our bench. Collison suffices next to Kanter. Bass isn't enough of an upgrade for us to want to trade for him.

And the centerpiece in this deal from the OKC side is Lou Will or Bass. For a team that's trying to get away from ISO ball, why do we want Sweet Lou? I'd rather stand pat with Waiters.

Waiters apparently still holds a little value around the league from reports coming out a few months back. He's coming up on RFA, and a desperate (DESPERATE) team might make a move for him to get his extension.

Any package we send out is more likely to include other tangential pieces with negligible value so we can get back underperforming guys from another team in the hopes that a change of scenery will revitalize them. You know what you're getting with Lou/Bass/Huertas. There's not a lot of potential upside, and Sam Presti loves him some potential upside.

I like the Nets Jack idea if they're down for it.

I understand not wanting to trade Mcgary but preferring to stand pat with Dion over Lou seems crazy. Williams career is Waters ceiling.

Just let Waiters walk in the offseason instead of stuck with Lou for a couple years then.
