Someone that knows the new CBA, can Covington get a ton more this year than next year? Thought it couldn't only decline by a certain amount.

Also, I like RoCo and Holmes for Crowder because he'd be an awesome fit and they're both buried with RoCo about to get paid a lot. Could put Smart in it too for a few good 2nds from Philly and really save money for Boston.

If you go with the renegotiation and extend, it can decline by up to 40% from this year to next and 8% annually after that. So the optimum structure we've been discussing assuming a contract extension around 60 million over 4 year is you give him a raise to $20 million this year, then his salary next year is $12 million and declining 8% per year from there on.

Yeah that's really good for Philly. Didn't know it was that much. Where is Phillys cap now?

Unfortunately, only $15 million so $5 million short of being able to do what is set out above. Coincidentally, Okafor's 2017 salary is $5 million.

There's also a possibility his extension won't be that large. Prices are starting to come down after last year's insanity. He is also someone that has made hardly any money so far in his career relatively speaking. There is a real benefit to him taking less than he would if it hit the market in order to get paid big money now and remove the risk of never seeing it.

the plan is to get as good as quickly as possible....I fully believe we could have been a borderline playoff team last year by adding young veterans....using or draft picks and cap space.....can I specifically tell you who? no.

Hm what about a 3 way with Crawford and Belli to OKC, Kanter and Okafor to ATL, 2018 CHI 2nd to PHI
