I also don't see Marks going all-in Billy King style on an older player. He comes from the Spurs tree. They never did that. I can see him breaking the bank for an established star under 28 without a terrible injury history, but forget backing up the truck for guys like Aldridge, DeRozan and possibly Jrue (due to injury history).

I think Jrue fits that mold, albeit in a different way. He'd be a great get for the Nets.
KC: Do you still think you're a championship-caliber team?

Yeah, I think Holiday has to be the right answer here unless somehow they can get Booker or Oladipo, but Allen probably goes to a third team there...

[Allen's cap hit + LeVert's cap hit]*1.25 + $100,000 = $25,242,006.75

So that's a little short of Holiday's cap hit of $26,261,111. So BKN needs to add $1,019,104.25 of salary. Don't forget the quarter! :P

Pinson is probably the odd man out here.

I really like the Jrue fit, but he's going to be 30 next year, and is another guy that's missed a lot of time throughout his career. If we bring in Jrue, I think Dinwiddie is the main outbound piece. Jrue is a defensive upgrade that would take over Dinwiddie's role. There's still a need for a G/F like LeVert. I don't see Kyrie-Jrue-Dinwiddie lineups being a sustainable thing. I also like the Dinwiddie fit for NOLA.

Add a couple future unprotecteds and you can get Garnett and Pierce

Yeah, let's look to contribute something worthwhile.

Do you have any thoughts on the trade as constructed?

Sorry, I thought it was a pretty good joke. No intention to troll here. It's been 7 years and the Nets are now a contender again.

For the record, there's no trade constructed by the OP...

Fair. Not hard and fast but we do tend to prefer people comment on the original idea (even if not fully fleshed out). Jokes are fine but just be careful about anything that could get fans too riled up 8-)
