Thus far there have been no "Opt In/Out" shockers.

Agree. My guess though is Dallas called and made a fairly insulting offer(because what do they have to offer?) and Griffin trying to be nice pawned off Donnie by saying we aren't dealing him to the West instead of yelling at him for wasting his time. Or some such.
Because Griffin strikes me as smarter than that.

Eggsactly. Don't get me wrong. I'm a Jrue fan and think he could really help my Hawks. That said, he ain't no world-beater to the point where you need to send him outta your conference.

Tim Hardaway is about to tell us to hold his beer?

That's fair. Griffin traded AD to a Western Conference "rival" so there's really no reason to think Jrue is where he would draw the line.

another stunner --Stanley Johnson opting in. And his PO proof that even the best FO's make mistakes.

it was a low risk gamble that didn't pan out. RHJ did pretty good though so 1/2 isn't too bad. At least this won't hamper 2021 FA plans and we dont have to pay to dump him

I mean we all knew Stanley Johnson couldn't play. I get having confidence in your development team/coaches, but still no way Johnson should have had the leverage for a PO. IT was widely panned at the time and rightfully so.
Obviously he's still arguable the best in the business though Presti is trying to take the crown and Riley can't ever be counted out, but this was a miss.

Pels won't have to worry about "competing" against him in the western conference. If they think they a playoff team before his contract expires then they should keep him.

Also the fact that Jrue is expiring and could just as easily be back in the west in a year anyway. Doesn't seem worth the worry this year.
Chuck's guess about this just being a cover story makes more sense.

Re: Random Rumors and Trade Board General Thoughts Thread
All I have to say is that with CP3->PHX, I expect a arms-race out WEST to begin. It will be interesting to see if teams like Denver, Portland, Utah, or Memphis get aggressive or not.
I expect Dallas to play it's cards for next off-season.
next Domino will be some sort of Harden / Westbrook move I think. If it's Westbrook first, then it will be important to see what comes back. If it's Harden then you can assume a Houston fire sale / feeding frenzy.
