There’s no timetable. He just started playing one on one in practice. His surgery was Jan 2 last year, so he’s just hit 13 months, which isn’t outlandish with recovery on this. The injury/surgery was on a spot that gets very little blood flow, so it recovers slowly.

Broad picture, Pritchard has always talked as if Warren is a “missing piece” and Warren has talked about wanting to stay in Indy. I imagine he has no trade value, and Indy would hold onto him for his bird rights.

I don't really. In general or here specifically. Similar to say a Pompey in Philly, there are enough team slants and not right things to really trust the we turned down offers better than you think we should have.

If I were Minnesota I would have done that deal right away.

The deal certainly may not get done, but Shams went out of his way to mention that the Nets were actively discussing the deal. I don’t have Shams as the sort to carry Morey’s bags like that if it’s not true.

As someone who has a vested interest in the nets being bad in the future due to the team I root for, I'm not sure if trading harden for Simmons is good or bad for me

probably bad. Simmons is way younger and will raise their floor during regular season

The initial report came from a Boston reporter (Jared Weiss) which was then confirmed by the local MIN guys. So unless you think that guy is carrying water for the Wolves, it does seem to have legs.

And while I agree that I'd do that trade all day every day, it's not hard to see why they turned it down. Beasley is the guy they've been shopping as the salary filler and if they were to try to do the same with Richardson he's both smaller and unable to be aggregated. So who knows, maybe they revisit the trade closer to the deadline if nothing bigger comes out.

Maybe. AFAIK Shams and Woj both get their info from agents, so it could come from Harden's agent too.

What would the Thunder want for Lu Dort? He'll be a free agent after next season, so maybe the Thunder look to move him before they have to pay him.

Is it one unprotected 1st? Two? Pick and a rotation player?

It does seem light to me, unless there was a trade request or some chemistry issue.

If it takes a 1st AND McDaniels though then I'm out.

That’s fine but I told everyone it would take a ton for the Celtics to move Smart. Never thought Smart would be traded

I figured as much. And I do know the Wolves have been interested in Smart for a while now, so this could all be smoke from their end.

Although it's weird too as all the rumours we heard prior to this was that the Wolves were looking for frontcourt help, even after Vando's emergence. To go "all in", so to speak, on Smart is a little counter to that.

I assume you're talking about Kyrie leaving/being let go? Honestly, I'm not sure that's such a huge deal in this scenario.

Yes it would certainly lower their ceiling but Durant is signed long term, should age gracefully and doesn't have anything left to prove (so no trade request). That should guarantee a level of competitiveness. But once you add Simmons, who himself is a floor raiser even if he might cap your ceiling, and looking at those picks I don't see how they turn into the kind of top 3 ones that Boston was getting. And that's with Kyrie being gone, if they re-sign him and maybe the COVID/vaccine thing gets worked out then they'd still be in the mix for a championship.

It's a little more than I'd like and would require a follow up since the Wolves are already small as is but I'd probably do it.

Although that pick would be lottery protected at best.
