OKC has no interest in moving SGA. They literally just paid the kid. Its a pure pipe dream for PHI.

This may have been YSBS value last year.
Not this year.
Not this year.

I have them about equivalent in terms of value
Which means that it will be easier for Morey to agree to the trade than McNair IMO
Morey is up against the wall. He's in a pinned situation due to Doc Rivers dumb comments. He has to trade Ben, and won't be held to account to harshly given the circumstances
McNair doesn't need to make the deal. As a GM, your under tremendous pressure. If you don't need to make a deal, and you do, and its the wrong choice - that's your job and legacy in the city's basketball fans
I think as players they can go either way. Ben has had better advanced states. Fox's offense at his age/position lends itself to being one of the better PGs win the league as the Curry/Paul/Irving's subside, and he has the athleticism/agility to be a real plus defender, which he tends to use under Walton in the 4th quarter. He was consistent on defense when he wasn't playing for a bottom 2 milquetoast coach (Walton) in Joerger, and has the 'ability' to be a significant player on both sides permanently (who knows if he will get there).
As players they can go either way, which is why its easier for the GM who has to make a deal and wont be under too harsh scrutiny for the return, when being a GM your so often afraid of making the wrong move
Fox is a dynamic scorer but he's not a good outside shooter. he's very average free throws shooting for the volume he gets. Which means many of his points are in transition with his speed in the context of a regular NBA game.
This is how Simmons gets 16 points a game in the regular NBA season most in transition despite no jump shot or layups/dunks on 10/11 shots a game. Fox takes 19 shots a game to get 25 points. That's a ton of shots.
How would Fox's game translate when teams put the clamps on him in the playoffs. We don't know. But his inability to shoot consistenly from the outside and teams cutting off driving lanes can spell trouble in post season with teams playing defense. This is exactly what happened to DeAngelo Russell when he was with the Nets. Russell is a notorious chucker. He actually made the NBA all star team as a replacement in the Winter 2019 all star game. The sixers completely exposed Russell in the playoffs.
The entire Sacromento team is dysfunctional starting with their Coach who doesn't preach defense. So the guys are free to roam and score and not punished for getting back on defense. And Fox doesn't help by not playing much defense himself.

Not really. OKC has cap space and TPEs even and are perfect team in the PPP trade equation.

Yeah it's just not happening. And it would take some real actual cornerstone pieces not just a bunch of variance picks.

I do agree that SGA is an absolute jewel who teams should be all over (maybe not right now but within a year), because its incredibly rare to see a player that good, that young, whose team isn't 100% committed to building around him.Wolveswin wrote:76ers Trade:

But still, at some point OKC have enough picks and want a guaranteed rookie contract stud to replace SGA instead of more lottery tickets. And I think teams would give that to them. Like, if I'm the Wolves here I cut out Philly and offer Edwards. I know that's a painful price but SGA is better now, may always be better, and for God's sake of you're the Wolves you need to push hard to win eventually. And I think an Edwards-level player is what OKC asks for, not just not picks for the Pick Pile.

To Philly: Buddy, Barnes, DLO, Minnesota pick(s)
To Minn: Simmons
To Sacra: McDaniels, Harris
Philly gets a shot in the arm on offense with tons of firepower and Minny picks.
Minnesota snags a big fish who complements KAT.
Sacramento consolidates and gets McDaniels to incentivize them.

Wait so the Kings get to upgrade Barnes to Harris, dump Buddy and your position is they need incentive? That can't be right so I'm guessing you left out Haliburton going to the Sixers here? Because that is a big pile of meh going to Philly for their 2nd and 3rd best player and the Kings stealing enormous gobs of value as written.

Ben and Thybulle go to Sacramento for De'aaron and Harrison Barnes, This way both teams get a Guard/Big duo (De'aaron Fox and Joel Embiid) (Ben Simmons and Buddy Heild) Both teams get a extra player from the other team to compensate for chemistry. Ben also doesnt end up going to a shooting focused team and staff group like the Rockets, Blazers, or Warriors. Philly gets a proper PG C duo. Both teams become Playoff contenders. =

Re: Ben Simmons trades go here (and here only): Expect warnings if not following forum rules
I think Simmons will get traded before training camp and for a lot less than most fans think. He's demanding a trade, he says he won't report to camp or ever play for the 76ers again, and he's a flawed player in that he can't shoot. What position does he play? Really he can play them all, but that lack of shooting ability is a problem. I don't know how to value him or what a team might offer or even what team would be after him.

I'm willing to decline that "chemistry compensation" of Barnes/Thybulle which....lucky for us....makes the deal not work salary-wise anyway!

We'll see what Philly ends up getting b/c I dont see a golden parachute scenario popping up. Buddy has his flaws for sure but he gets buckets regardless. I think a trade like this gives Philly a better team given the situation. Dlo and Buddy give Imbiid tons of space.

I think Fox is the all around better player. I might make a deal if I'm the kings if I can get Ben and not give up Fox or Haliburton. Something like Hield, Bagley and Mitchell and a #1 pick for Simmons and Curry makes some sense to me.

I'm honestly very tired of you lying to make it seem like Sixers fans are unreasonable. This proposal has Mitchell included, yours did not. You continuously take an offer that is significantly different than yours and say oh well I said something similar and Sixers fans didn't like it. You can't take an offer that has piece added - that is the most valuable piece in the proposal - and pretend it is like yours. If you are going to keep repeating yourself incessantly in this thread then I'm going to insist that you are at least intellectually honest about it.
