All of those articles are a bit out of date. Marion hasn't filed any sort of papers or announced anything offical.

I know Antic signed outside the NBA, but he's still classified as a FA by the NBA until the start of the season here. The Hawks maintain his rights until they Renounce him. That likely happens later this week, but nothing has happened yet.

All I am saying is that those are agreed upon deals. Rare is the time when one of those is backed out of. Marion mentioned during the Finals he was going to retire, but then has said nothing since then.

I also laid out for you how the NBA sees Antic and how that works. If you don't like that, take it up with the NBA.

Also, by all means, feel free to create your own FA list. I'll even sticky it for you. But also remember that Butler, Gordon, Morris, and Williams were actually waived as part of the last league year, so they didn't finish the year as part of those team's rosters.

If Antic signed in Europe, what's the point in having him as FA on your list? People looking at that list think their team might still sign him. Isn't that the point of this list? And not technicalities and being *RIGHT*?

Shaq still hasn't turned the papers in, but he is retired. Well, not to you. Hey, maybe he'll sign for C's this year. #WellActually, he doesn't belong to this list because he wasn't on the roster on July 1st.

I actually do understand how it works. It simply bothers me that he's going by the rule when it comes to a guy who signed in Europe, keeping him FA, but on the other hand claims these verbal agreements as done deals. It's inconsistent. Last year Rashard Lewis' contract was agreed on, but he didn't sign. Two years ago, Harris agreed on a bigger deal with Mavs, they voided it when they found out he needs surgery, and he signed for minimum.

He's keeping Marion as FA although he said he's retiring. I know the rules about retirement, Shaq is still a cap hold for Celtics.

All I am saying is he's going by rules when he feels like it. Which is ok, cause it's *HIS* thread. I felt it's against the sole purpose of this board, which is to be informative.

He's going by rule because that was the purpose of the thread. Its similar to the cap space thread, its done by the rule of the CBA and how the NBA would track it, not how casual fans do.

And sorry about the hashtag thing, its a weird pet peeve of mine. I'm not that old (though I don't know if 29 is too old to get that joke but I didn't).

In fairness, the notes shouldn't say "signed or re-signed". It should probably say something along the lines of "agreed to terms." I'm just trying to keep everything up to date as quickly as possible, so I took the easy way out. I can appreciate that piece of criticism.
