Re: Ben Simmons for No. 1 Pick
FWIW, I'd take Fultz over Simmons every day of the week. Simmons' lack of range is a concern as well as his fading defense at LSU, which even had some scouts questioning his passion for the game. But ultimately combine those 2 aspects with a Jones fracture and I have a few questions about Simmons reaching his potential, which admittedly is sky high.
Fultz has one similar question: defensive effort. He too started the year putting a lot of effort in on D, and its faded as the year went on. But at his position (PG/SG) he has exceptional length, and has no offensive weakness that I can see. If he can be a full-time PG, I think he could challenge for the #1 overall player in the NBA at some point in his career. If he's more of a combo guard or full-time SG, I still think he has top 25 upside.
But in terms of trade value, Simmons is already one year in and we still have the exact same questions that he had coming into the league, plus now an injury concern. Fultz gets you an extra year and, IMO, less questions. So whoever gets the #1, I seriously doubt they'd entertain a #1 for Simmons offer

Can't believe people think Simmons is "every bit as" athletic as LeBron. Who many people consider the P4P goat athlete.

I think it's just 1 guy. I like Simmons a heck of a lot and think he's extremely athletic but Lebron is on a short list for Goat Athletes.

Worth mentioning that Simmons was old for his year too and Fultz is almost 2 years younger. I like Simmons and think he's a great prospect but I think a lot of Sixers fans overrate him by ignoring his flaws. There are still some very real questions about his game translating and he's also more challenging to build a team around compared to Fultz.

It's one person heading towards double digit accounts on this site over the past several years and who once said that LeBron can bench press 600 pounds. Don't take it too seriously.

You are totally Insane. Fultz, nor anyone in this draft is even remotely close to the Talent that Ben Simmons is. In fact the only player in the past 30 years who can even come close talent wise IS " Lebron " And even Lebron didn't have some of the advantages that Simmons has. Simmons sees the game in a way not too many players have ever seen it. He is a Athletic Monster, and once he drives to the rim, which he can against anyone...he will cream whoever is on him one on one, or if you bring help, Ben is the MASTER at delivering the pass to the open Jump shooter or cutter in the lane. Only problem is that at LSU, they had nothing around Simmons at all. I mean except for Hornsby, and after he went down, Ben was all alone. But efficiently speaking Ben was outstanding regardless of their record.
I like several players in this draft, Fultz is one of them. But comparing his talents to Simmons is just Crazy. And no way would I deal him for the # 1 pick. As a Sixers fan I can safely say I would not even deal away the Multi talented and extremely diverse " Dario Saric " for the # 1 pick in this draft. But Simmons....that is just LAUGHABLE.
Where do you get your drugs? You must be on the primo stuff.
Past 30 years is a long time...Duncan, Robinson, Iverson, Kobe, Shaq, Lebron, Durant, Westbrook, Anthony Davis etc etc etc
Simmons is an incredible athlete, not a good basketball player.... for long term talent in this draft I'd put him at 4th, behind Fultz, Ball and Tatum.
In college he only looked good playing in the weak SEC because he was faster and more athletic than 95% of his opponents and most of his points were on fast breaks. Half court offense he was left wide open and teams dared him to shoot..he's just a tall version of Rondo, has potential to be a solid player but has big holes in his game.

But the bottom line is this...there is not ONE single fact that anyone can illustrate where either M.Fultz or L.Ball have any skill that is better then Simmons...not one. And to suggest that either of them is more valued then Ben Simmons is just ridiculous.
Ummmm... they can shoot?

I think if I'm Boston I'd add Bradley/Rozier and do Simmons and 6th pick for Boston pick. Celts csn add another real good wing at 6 like Tatum while netting Simmons at the 4 long term.

The point is, you don't trade a guy who was comparable to LeBron before you see him step foot on the court, genius. For a lesser prospect. Which is what Fultz is.

The point is, Simmons doesn't compare to LeBron. If you're expecting this outcome, you're going to be beyond disappointed.
I heard on the latest Dunc'd on podcast this morning that Sixers beat writers are saying Simmons jump shot still looks terrible. He's got a LONG way to go before he can be compared to top 5 players ever [LeBron, Magic].

I'm not expecting him to be LeBron. I'm using the very loose comparison on that website as a microcosm as to why I'm not trading this prospect before I even see what he can do. Because, you know, that is f'ng stupid. But, nonetheless, more hot takes please.
Maybe we should trade him for Jaylen Brown?

Then don't make the comparison and say 'I'd take LeBron over Harden'.
You may want to look in the mirror before accusing others of hot takes...

This thread looks to have a smattering of interesting draft analysis sandwiched in a sea of muck.
I'm of two opinions. The first is to lock it and put it out of its mercy.
The second is to declare that since it is a thread on one and done's, any baiting trolling, bashing, or openly accusing another person of bias, homercy, baiting bashing or trolling is a strict warning and not this friendly blue type.
If you see something, use the report function don't reply. Thanks all.
