That would be an interesting line-up. Hayes legal issues may clog things up. I also fully expect Nurkic to be resigned. He had an immense amount of chemistry with Dame and Ant in the PnR and has been the one defensive game changer we have had.

Portland is also going to end up with more than a mid lotto pick. It is going to end up top 5.

Assuming CJ is traded, the only starter that Portland has from the beginning of the season is Nurk.

Dame, Little and Zeller are out for the season. Nance is still injured and dealing with setbacks.

I think Portland uses the top 5 pick to upgrade the 3 or 4 spot in the off-season.

As to the specific ATL deal, i think they get back a bit more than Bog and an oft injured Hunter.

Let me be clear from the jump this is 100% Chuck speculation and I don't expect everyone to agree, particularly Portland fans. But I keep seeing some really strange teams rumored for CJ. Dallas of course, because every team/agent uses Dallas as a stalking horse because Dallas needs talent, and Cuban is aggressive. But as a bunch of poster tried it, you quickly find there is no deal that makes sense for both sides. But also a team like Atlanta that doesn't really make any sense at all. He fits next to Trae worse than next to Dame and they paid Bogan 18 months ago and Huerter to start the year. Knicks make sense for the Knicks but they would certainly expect Portland to take Fournier which doesn't for them. New Orleans really doesn't make sense unless they just say screw defense altogether and again they are going to demand to unload Graham on Portland.

So this makes me think Portland is both pretty desperate to move him and pretty desperate to get off his deal even if as bad as they got off of Powell's. These leaks are almost certainly intentional out of Portland trying to drive up interest in hopes one team just lets them off the money and maybe gives them something minor like a Keon Johnson to sell to their fanbase.

I think if we get a CJ deal its going to be pretty bad for Portland.

That makes sense.

Other sites are posting NOH offers for CJ that seem a bit too good to be true to me.

POR needs off CJ, no later than this off-season, and I think anyone paying attention knows it.

Oh to be fair I think it is a fully legitimate take in its own. But obviously that take cannot come from anyone who is saying Philly should deal Simmons because they cannot get those guys, because you cannot have it both ways.

He may be reading the tea leaves so to speak and doesn't have real info (though he will claim he does if a trade happens). Smitty noted that Harden looked good in shoot-around today but is now scratched. Add in Embiid posting some cryptic tweets like 30min ago (after this guy's tweet to be fair) and you can start to see some potential smoke. Or Embiid is just messing with everyone ha.
