WOJ betting against the field and I think he cares more about his reputation than helping any GM/agent.

Ok with all the Nets-6ers talk here’s my guess at the situation.

Harden/Harris/Millsap

For

Simmons/Harris

Philly gets harden, offloads Tobias and gets another shooter+PF in a pinch.

Nets get Simmons and Harris to round out a very frightening big 4.

I don't see how you can separate the two. His reputation is the guy who breaks almost every big story and the way he is able to do that is by helping GMs and agents.

how it would help his job to lie about the Harden/Simmons situation?

I won't guess at the dynamics for this specific situation just commenting that Woj's well-known MO is that he will put out there whatever a team or agent wants as long as they give him the scoop when something is going down.

Sure we know that's how it works but been a week that Woj is saying that teams aren't negotiating while Shams was the first to break the Harden/Simmons trade possibility...not a big win if he breaks the news tomorrow after repeating that Harden was likely staying.

I mean it's very unlikely if the trade goes down that Woj won't have another public comment on it until breaking the news. If it happens, you're likely to get one of his "Sixers-Nets are engaged in deep discussions" type tweets.

I'm just ready for this whole saga to be over. If Morey pulls Harden, especially without having to give up a lot extra, then that is certainly better than I expected him to do so happy to eat whatever crow that is. He did get lucky that Harden is unhappy in Brooklyn and I'm a bit surprised no other teams are trying to swoop in at the last minute but hey, good for the Sixers.

My Harden package guess is Simmons, Thybulle, Green, and PHI 1st with Green and PHI 1st being rerouted to a third team for more win-now help. I think Philly refuses to give up Maxey in a deal and offers only one of Curry or Thybulle (BKN's pick). Maybe Philly parts with both or BKN picks Curry over Thybulle since he is more win-now and Joe Harris is a weird situation, but I'll stick with my guess

This team really makes it hard to be a fan *sigh*

I can only hope that Rosas has changed & has earned this second chance...but knowing Dolan, it's hard to give them the benefit of the doubt on something like this...

I'm with the Geltzeiler line of thinking. The Nets are insisting on 2 of the 3 (Maxey, Thybulle & Curry). They'll let the Sixers pick the one they keep. There will probably be a pick & a swap or two. I think they're trying to find a way for Morey to save some face & get the Philly base more excited. That piece could come from another team (perhaps routing Claxton elsewhere) or maybe it's Mills who is a better win now piece than Maxey, Curry or Thybulle. If Mills goes back, my gut thinks it's because Maxey & Curry are going to the Nets.

Per Woj, "The idea that they are going back and forth that's been surmised by some, I don't believe that to be accurate." I think "back and forth" is key. My guess is Marks named his price. Morey is still throwing more things at the wall, but Marks is holding firm on his ask.

Heat got a second to lower the protections. Hopefully people take note of that.

Even if you value KZ as anything then at worse the heat gave nothing in net value

Edit: nevermind I misread on Twitter it seems!!

Depending on how the pick is protected in 2025, that is great for OKC. Pushes past any Jimmy window. If it's just 25 or 26, Heat can trade 2028 as well.

Yea, I'm a fan of this. But frees two picks for Miami as well. Wonder who for? Do they send Herro+picks for Beal? It's a bad idea, but I'm still thinking about it.

I guess this has to mean Miami is getting ready to trade two firsts (either 22 or 23 and first available after the OKC pick, 27 or 28)

Otherwise this makes very little sense. That 25/26 pick would be more desirable for every team just like it was for OKC than just the 22/23 pick that they just free'd up

Well with Beal out for the season I really doubt it, especially since it'll be hard to match salary
