With just about three weeks until the beginning of free agency, this move is further proof that the Nets might already have somebody in mind — and it appears like that guy is Kyrie Irving. Sources tell the Daily News that the Brooklyn Nets are “frontrunners” to get Irving if he decides to leave Boston.

I mean that even had an if he leaves. I just don't see the rep you do. And if the Nets cobble together a deal on Wednesday and it gets accepted, I'm not sure this front running of it is scooping it; versus all the talking heads that mostly have it down to 2-3 teams at most that will be in a Harden deal.

The question is... what would "working on" mean? What's there to actually "work" on? Make a decision.

I can't imagine he gets that much on the open market, but maybe an opt out S&T can get him a most of that & a long term commitment.

It is well known among Net circles, including Net Income (his mentor and good friend), Pooch had it and definitively stated it well before anywhere else. I am not saying this will happen or not fall apart but he is 100% legit and connected. He was always well respected as a poster, Tweeter, journalist, but that made him legend among us. The only one to wear that crown.

Kemba doesn't have that value.

And that's not the direction Detroit is going. If Troy Weaver wanted to build a competitive team this year, he wouldn't have traded Bruce Brown, a competent NBA player, for Dzanan Musa and a late 2nd yesterday. The Pistons are looking to move vets, not acquire them. Not to mention the value, which you've rightly pointed out is way off.

I have NetIncome to be an incredibly un-credible source of anything. I don't think this changes my stance at all.

I mean whether basketball Scarmucci has it locked down or not it certainly appears inevitable at this point.

How does that make sense? If he had to opt in, they could trade him earlier. If he opts out, he cannot be traded either way.

You are on the wrong season. A S&T of anyone at this point will be in the 20-21 season.

What about Bob (Windrem NI)? He doesn't have the connections he once did, but he's an Emmy award winning journalist and covered the Nets for decades. He's a D-Bag and biased, but knows pretty much everyone in the org, tho more so during the Prokhorov era.

Don't know what else to tell you HW, but any Net fan can tell you who Pooch is and could for some time.

Yup. I am personally a fan of Detroit trading down with Boston if they can squeeze out a future 1st (#7 for #14, #26 and 2021 Bos Lotto Protected 1st) and while most Detroit fans are against the idea, I really do not see a difference between #7 and #14 this year.

People trying to pawn off overpaid players and win-now players on Detroit because it is Detroit is just silly. Detroit can still find a way to be somewhat competitive (they have Blake afterall) without giving up assets.

Also goes against Woj saying the rockets don't think the nets have what it takes and there have been no talks of substance a few hours ago on ESPN. Unless something changed that made that pupu platter way more palatable within a matter of hours, have a hard time buying this

Must be some technical salary cap issue for a trade. I cant imagine he is not going to opt in.

I would love to see Kyrie's cryptic messages after he got traded.
