Have they, though? Even his agent plainly said "opening night rotation" and Bagley (unsurprising to anyone who's followed him for more than a few games for the last 3 years) had to sit out preseason games due to knee soreness.

I mean if the issue is just his knee hurts, his agent doesn't make that statement. I mean....

Well it's obviously more than that. More than likely something along the lines of the Kings refusing to spoon feed him minutes in the name of "development" like they have for the last 3 years. But for a guy going into a contract year who's second biggest issue has been health it's probably not going to help him (get the next contract) if he starts the year unable to play.

I think its clear from the statement he is ready to play

Sacramento media said he was ready in the previous days

I mean If he’s not getting minutes he’s not going to work out … then wouldn’t 1-2 seconds be better in terms of control ?

At this rate I’m not even sure the kings want to offer him the QO . Best chance is getting OKC to bite.

Wood and House for Wiseman and Moody not working money wise is bumming me out. Wood would be awesome for the Ws.

Andrew Wiggins, James Wiseman, and Moses Moody for Eric Gordon, Christian Wood, and Danuel House Jr. works, for what it is worth. I can't imagine the twelve million dollar jump from Gordon to Wiggins would derail that kind of trade; I think we would have seen that in the off-season, if it was going to happen, though.

1. Its early overreactions but I may have overrated LAL.

2. Bagley for Bazeley is something I'd actually consider.

Edited: Also wrt 1, maybe an overreaction still but the age of the roster didn't hit me until I saw it and seeing Westbrook/Rondo/Melo all in a lineup was a sight. In one game it was every concern you could muster lol.

I have seen some pro Lakers fans mention the slow start years ago with Mike Brown.

No idea who would be the replacement if it is decided that Vogel has to take the blame.

Nunn, Ellington, THT and Ariza were all injured so yeah, essentially Bradley, who was signed yesterday had to close the game.

Why not just make it Wiseman, Lee, SRP for Wood?

Could the handling of the Simmons deal lead to Embiid wanting out?

No one can 100% predict the future, but I'd say no. In recent interviews Embiid has basically shrugged off the Simmons problem and said to just move forward.

Yup. Plus, Embiid would probably more appreciate the franchise as this whole issue kind of relates to the franchise embracing Embiid as the sole centerpiece of the team going forward. And, for as awkward as Morey is with players, he's apparently been playing doubles tennis with Embiid. :dontknow:

Did anyone ever figure out the Denver 3 rookie max thing?

I missed the original point being raised, but what's the issue in particular? A team can have 2 designated "Rose Rule" rookie extensions (a qualified rookie extension that goes over the 25% max normally allowable) on the books, which for Denver, is just possibly Michael Porter Jr. Jokic was only a 25% max, not a Rose Rule max. Jamal Murray had qualifying language in his contract, but did not meet any of the requirements, so he's just a normal 25% maximum salary. However, a team can have any number of "rookie max contract extensions" that only are up to the 25% maximum salary. The limit is only on contracts that exceed the 25% maximum, of which, technically, the Nuggets have 0 at the moment. Next year (2022-23, they might have one if Porter qualifies).

People are already trying to find how to trade away Westbrook.

Houston drafting an extra center or two with later 1st round picks likely decreased their interest in Wiseman. And it would have been easier to close the salary difference between Wiseman and Wood in the offseason. If such a deal was going to happen it probably would have had to happen before/during the draft.

Well that's not happening.

It's going to be weird, and the fit was always weird. But if the plan is to use him as a spot up shooter with 2 centers on court I'm not really sure what's going on.

Or break it into Wiseman, Lee for Wood, Moody for House.

But that does seem kind of steep for GS. I think Tate and maybe even a late 1st would need to go back.

I think the plan was get Lebron to the playoffs healthy and rested. And I still think Westbrook is going to help them on nights when Lebron sits and minutes when Lebron is off the court. But yeah they don't have enough shooting, which we knew. And their perimeter defense is going to be a major issue all year and while I trust Lebron, AD, and Vogel to cover up some of that, they can't cover up all of it.

Bottom line is the league has 2 teams clearly ahead of everyone else. And they played in the other game last night. Then its teams like Denver and Utah and Phoenix at the top of the West. I think the Lakers are playing for a 5 or 6 seed, would take a better one if they could get it, but won't kill themselves to get there.

Some nights are going to be ugly. But Russ isn't this bad. And Lebron/Vogel will figure out how to get more out of Westbrook.
