Houston adds a blue chip prospect, while keeping their tank / capspace timeline.

Cleveland gets Simmons, who actually fits with Sexton, Garland and Allen

Philly gets a competitive starting five that actually fits and has some good assets if another star level players becomes available.

why does houston want love's contract? 76ers make off like bandit. yes EC contract is ugly but 3 FRP Woods is good player Rubio can run a offense and EC can hit corner 3s at least ?? 3 FRP for ben Simmons basically. :noway:

I think you are missing a key part of the value to Houston.

If you really think Mobely that big of difference maker ... That's quite the gamble.

Houston needs more big swings at future star players and to be as bad as possible the next two years.

Wood is nice, and so is the late Brooklyn picks, the other two picks not likely to be all that great.

I like that trade for every party involved except Ben Simmons. And that means its a good trade. Well done!

Hardest of passes.

How about we do one with John Wall where the Rockets get Simmons and the Cavs end up with Green?

I think this is pretty fair. Philly could use those picks in a deal with Tobias for a better roster fit. Something that's maybe Heild and Bagley centered.

Maxey / Rubio
Heild / Gordon
Green / Thybulle
Wood / Bagley
Embiid / Drummond

I mean the Cavs aren't trading Sexton, Mobley and Rubio for Simmons so maybe cut them out.

Right, and based on reporting, the Cavs aren't interested enough to include Mobley or Garland.

Other than owner and morey history rocket say yes in seconds after oct 1. Feels like this DOA for the sixers though since wall can’t shoot that well

To 76ers: Irving + Nets Filler

To Nets: McCollum + Covington + Curry

To Blazers: J. Harris + Simmons

Simmons to Nets has been discussed. Not sure Durant or team would approve. Yes Simmons provides needed defense, but his no shooting and need for ball in hand doesn’t fit. How about McCollum + Covington. Covington becomes defensive specialist and McCollum replaces some of Irving scoring and shot creation. I could even see lineup with McCollum off bench as super scoring 6th (starting and finishing games).
C by Committee
Durant
Covington
McCollum
Harden
Curry off bench replaces a lot of J. Harris loss.

76ers get duo with Embiid as discussed many times.
Embiid
Harris
Green or Thybulle
Thybulle or Green
Irving (plus time at SG next to Maxey)

Blazers retool around Dame.
Nurkic
LNJ
Simmons
J. Harris

KD smart. He knows there is no mid range space for him if Simmons in the half court set. So he’s got to hang out at 3 point line. And he doesn’t want to be out there all the time.

FWIW the Blazers best beat writer, Jason Quick at The Athletic, added this tidbit on Portland's thinking about Simmons in a piece on Lillard
Whether that means a pursuit of Philadelphia’s Ben Simmons — the Blazers are interested at a one-for-one price — or a deal to beat the Feb. 10 trade deadline remains to be seen.

so CJ straight up for Simmons must be the Blazers offer

Might the Sixers punt until next summer? If Embiid buys in, trade Simmons for picks and maybe icky expirings. Then go after a top drawer free agent (probably named Bradley) in 2022.

It would probably be an easier deal to make.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Why would Embiid sign off on that? Why would he punt on a season at this stage of his career. Why should he be loyal to a dysfunctional team?

I wonder how long until Embiid publicly demands a trade?
