Yeah totally i would love Trae. Personally i Just want some offensive know-how and some other stars to pair with Zion since we going to build around him apparently. Willie Green will sacrifice everthing for a D that will be collectively bad anyways, so im just trying to make it impossible for him to make us un-fun lol. Now im wondering about Jah too!

I like it.
What pick can Nets get to with #10 and #8?

Can they get #4? Or #5?

It feels like the goal would be to jump both picks using later picks.

Like 8 and 19 for 4. Then 10 and 26/35 for 5 or 6 or 7.

Trade Cam J/27 and the future Philly pick back for PG/3.

Trade 3/4(and maybe a specific future 1st) for 2.

Windup with Harper and a swing at one of Essengue, Tre, Carter Bryant, Coward, etc.

Or Advija's value given his super cheap contract for next 3 years?

I think they should take khaman maluach and kasparas jakucionis to pair with their scoring SGs

I think the surprising Bane price is going to look more like the norm by the end of the summer. With 25+ teams with playoff ambitions, and no cap space to add impact talent, GM’s will be bidding against each other with trade assets to improve.

My bigger questions are:

1. With so many teams competing, which top 60 players might even be available with a good trade package?

2. Which team playoff ambitions might change direction and think “now is the time to be a seller?”

The real question is what does the Desmond Bane trade do for the value of my 16 year old Charizard G lv X card

I mean they hit on Jalen as a second option? Maybe even their best player moving forward. Last season lottery luck helped as well..

Traded a lot for DJM but got good value when they flipped him after that failed.. Dyson is worth a lot and they should be really excited.

They have a nice young starting line up that fits really well together and should continue to grow while having no tax issues for 3 more full seasons..

Not saying it’s all good, because they should’ve just drafted Luka… But where they’re at now is a nice spot imo.

Okay, if Bane can return 4 picks, do your damn job shoe salesman and get a haul for Anthony Davis

Detroit, ball is in your court. Orlando put their chips in to compete even more so in the East.

It's your turn, and Anthony Davis is the solution. Please......

Bane is a good example of the new CBA at work.

Bane is efficient, appropriately paid (maybe slightly high), is young enough where he can still improve as his contract gets more expensive, just a good player on a decent contract at a decent age.

The only knock I really have is he hasn't been a picture of health.

This is the type of player teams trying to build contenders (IE lot of players to play) will covet, hence the relatively high price. I think part of the price was having to dump KCPs deal, which is meh.

In the new CBA, every cap dollar allocation MATTERS. Orlando had a bunch of wasted dollars...13m for Anthony....15m of Isaac....20m for KCP....you just can't have guys not worth their deals like this, if you expect to compete at the highest levels. Orlando cleans it up a bit, but it comes at it is a high price. Would have liked them to not have made these deals, and been able to use those picks to upgrade one of their core 3 into a higher tier player. As is, without significant leaps from Banchero or Franz, its hard for me to see them reach contender status. Looks like a perennial 2nd round team, maybe hit CF a few times, ala the Minny tier.

It goes deeper than this.

Cohesion is incredibly difficult to maintain in the new CBA, and Orlando now has 4 players who are good NBA players locked in through the next 4 seasons. Their ceiling was always going to be whatever Paolo's level of play reaches, and acquiring a player to grow with Paolo during the first half of his prime is crucial in development and maximizing the team's title opportunities.

As we have seen, teams typically need a couple of seasons to season their core and grow together. OKC, Indiana, Minnesota, Boston, and Cleveland all took some time, in some capacity, to grow around their "star" and let their star grow.

Then, understand that Free Agency is a way a team adds a light fixture in a bathroom. Free Agency isn't how you build a bathroom; it is how you finish a bathroom. The CBA allows teams to extend their stars, and if they can't, then they trade them for whatever the opposite of pennies on the dollar is, since the demand for these good players, like Mikal and Bane and OG, far exceeds the supply of these players being available.

Orlando may have had an opportunity over the next 3-4 years to acquire someone of Bane's caliber, but it was unlikely. The opportunity presented itself to Orlando, and they took the shot they needed.

Indiana did the same with Pascal Siakam last year. I'm not going to predict Orlando as an NBA Finals team next year, but given steady, expected, and continued growth from Paolo/Wagner while Suggs returns to his 2024 form, this team is in the same tier as New York, Indiana, and Cleveland next year, though probably 4th.

Players grow the most while being in difficult series and situations, which involve playing meaningful basketball through the month of May.

I consider Minnesota to be in the same tier as us and New York. I guess we aren't contenders either

Man…Wasn’t too long ago when people said I was asking way too much for Giannis…After the Bane trade, I guess I wasn’t asking enough.

It will be interesting to see how much Lauri eventually gets trade for as he’s basically exactly a year older and getting 10m more a year. How much that 10M matters will be an interesting display of the new CBA at work.

Can Memphis aggregate these players before the deadline? Was thinking if Dallas struggles they are a fun AD team.

MEM trades: KCP, Cole Anthony, Brandon Clark, GG Jackson, 2026 MEM 1st (has complicated swap option), 2028 MEM/ORL 1st (higher), 2030 MEM 1st, 2030 ORL 1st
DAL trades: AD
Memphis flips the Bane package for a top-10 player. Dallas gets a boatload of picks.

Ja/Pippen
Wells/Kennard
Williams/Konchar
JJJ/Aldama
AD/Edey

Aldama probably needs to be traded for a good wing in this scenario, but I like the foundation of the team. Tough defensively, probably enough scoring (just need some shooters around their trio) and has the stylistic vibe Memphis traditionally has.

Aggregation restriction is 2 months I think. So well before the season even starts. Would really need a solid 6th man, not a lot of playmaking on that roster.
