Anytime someone says 5 second round picks they're trying to make up value that isn't there by adding nothing and pretending it's something.

Denver and Atlanta winners.

No outright losers cause I didn’t see any signings that will cost picks to move. At most traded for other questionable signings.

Id call Detroit losers for failing to get better/take advantage of a weak east. They lack even more depth at PF now

Indy also for losing Turner

Detroit - if your free agents want to go elsewhere nothing much you can do. They did try get back other players in free agency.

Indiana - seems ownership not willing to pay.

Yeah. Pritchard and a first is probably what Mavs would counter with.
My impression is they would t be looking to move Lively though.

Funny that the contract Ayton was bought out of, was offered by the Pacers :)

I'm still pretty bullish on the Pistons for next season. Getting Jaden Ivey back will be a big lift for the starting lineup and take some of the pressure off of Cade Cunningham. Assuming one of Ausar Thompson and Ron Holland II take a step forward, you've got a solid team there.

Not sure how you get Luka, still have Lebron, and want to wait 2 years to try and put the team together. Weird. Luka showed just a year ago he doesn't need that much.

Are we adding unprotected future picks?

Cause if not, I’m not seeing the allure for the Nets.

No. Claxton is probably not worth his contract. So the value is getting off the future years and a low level prospect.

But good to see fan prices in Brooklyn are still set triple retail even after the stuff that sells goes for far less. :D

Eye of the beholder thing?

If you squint he kinda fits that Chet/Mobley defensive prototype as a long, switchable guy that can protect the rim. And this is a copycat league...

I do worry about what he does to your team offensively and with how slight he is defending the post as a 5.

Still, I could see a team valuing him at a protected 1st+matching salary. He's at least on a declining salary. If you cancel our this year with useless expirings you've got 2 for 44 left which seems... Not that bad if he's in the right situation.

But I'm still adjusting to the current salaries and apron implications so I might be off.

sure but Knecht is basically a late 1st. Despite this claim he won't finish his rookie contract, he played 20 mpg over 78 games for a playoff team as a rookie and has a playable skill in being a shooter with size.

As always if you can get multiple unprotected firsts for your player not worth that, awesome more power to you, but I think it makes more sense to try and find deals that more closely represent his value.

I might well be low, but I feel confident I'm not low by multiple unprotected 1sts.

Not a fan of Knecht, but I have to agree with you on this one. It feels like the realistic options for Claxton are drying up and if Ayton goes to the Lakers, then I admittedly have a hard time finding a fit. Considering we've now seen (on multiple occasions) what Marks can do in this spot, opening up more space in 2026 (and negating much of the money added in the MPJ and Mann deals), might be more valuable.

Based on the Nets MO this offseason, Brooklyn seems willing to take back multi-year deals and additional salary if its for a player they value and the pick is right. Between that and the Lakers' aversion to adding 2026 money, maybe including Vanderbilt better fit what both teams are looking to accomplish.

Doesnt Gaff make twice as much as Peyton? Dallas just signed D-Low IQ, but I'd be ok with the premise of this if they can then turn Klay, Naji, or Caleb to a backup 5.

If Lebron ask to be traded...Gafford/PJ Washington/Klay for Lebron. We become the Los Angeles Mavericks (Doncic/Reaves/Rui/PJ/Gafford). Dallas will try to win it all Kyrie(Dlo)/Max/Flagg/Lebron/AD(Lively).

Oh, I kind of expect Pritchard to try and sign Ayton.

Adding Niang after Sept 5th makes the money work. I feel like Pritchard is worth a little more than Gafford straight up though, and IDK if Boston has any positive on court valuation on Niang or if he is just salary ballast.
