TOR / UTAH : Bosh

Just an idea, think it might be possible

Tor:
Kirilenko, Millsap, #10

Utah:
Bosh, Hedo

Utah (assume resign Boozer)
Boozer/Okur/Fesenko/Koufos
Bosh/Boozer
Hedo/MLE
CJ Miles/Matthews
Deron/Price

Utah isn't taking Hedo, and we certainly wouldn't re-sign Boozer if we got Bosh.

I don't think Utah takes on Hedo because of their financial situation. Millsap and #10 are decent return though.

That would make sense too without Hedo, and Boozer.
And it should be #9 pick

I personally am more interested in Kirilenko, as if we resign Amir, Millsap might fight for the playing time with similar role. Maybe add another high 2nd pick as well (from S&T of Boozer or Korver), but the #9 is pretty good imo.

So I am asking this as a serious question in response to your above statement...you think Amir is on the same level as Millsap?

No, but both might get less playing time, so I would upgrade the 3/4, instead of 4/5.
And a 17m expiring can be trade for other assets as well, since there are enough long term contracts for the Raptors.

His defensive impact for us is huge. Looking at their stats, they're not as far off as you might think, and given that Amir is two years younger, and will likely be a lot cheaper, yes I prefer him to Millsap. Amir needs to work on cutting his fouling rate down a bit though.

Raps will take this deal, I love Milsap and the #10 is a good piece for the rebuild. Would Utah go for this and start the Deron/Bosh era? Can this deal be changed with Hedo not included to make it better for Utah?

Hedo's addition is a bonus for Raps, I'll be good with the #10 and Milsap in a Bosh return.

Fixed.
And I already suggested:

Also, I would take Aldrich at #9, so Millsap would be redundant. I would prefer AK's expiring.

How is Millsap redundant to Aldrich?

Milsap is a big asset. IF he doesn't fit here, we can flip him for something good.

If Utah is serious about winning, they re-sign Booz and ship out MIllsap for either a good wing who can create, or a C. Bosh is better than Booz, but the fundamental issues with the Jazz against the Lakers are that:

a) DWill doesn't show up
b) they have no wings who can put pressure on LA (either defensively or offensively)
c) Their Cs are mediocre

Booz at PF is fine, and losing him for nothing is absolutely silly. Keep him, ship out Milsap and spend the pick to hopefully address (b) and (c).

I would not throw in the towel if I'm the Jazz. Kirilenko can be moved at the trade deadline for some nice assets, like TMac was moved. If you resign Booz and you AK and Sap to address (b) and (c) (and ideally tell DWill to stop playing like a vag against the Lakers), then the future will be relatively bright.

The absolute priority during the regular season next year has to be developing some sort of C who will be ready come playoff time, even if it is at the cost of regular season wins. Between Fess, Koufous, the NY pick and whatever Millsap brings back, surely you can find a serviceable big man to pair with Booz.

There is just not enough playing time as of "redundant".
Toronto has Reggie Evans, Amir Johnson, Andrea Bargnani, adding Aldrich and Millsap (6-8, shortest of all) will be redundant in the PF position. It doesn't help Toronto upgrading their needed position, but have another guy who plays the same role as Reggie Evans, Amir Johnson.

Most likely Toronto would be enough to have Bargnani, Amir, Aldrich to rotate at the PF/C, add another vert. true C as backup (5 mins) would be good enough.

thing is Millsap alone for Bosh does not work. AKs salary needs to be added, i understand them not taking Hedo but it has to be Millsap + AK + Pick to make it work salary wise. Or just AK alone.

I disagree. Millsap is better than Reggie or Amir, and resigning Amir is not a given at this stage. Millsap would be a good front-court with Bargnani; he could take care of the rebounding.

Anyways, like RO7 said, salary doesn't match.

Millsap is better than Reggie or Amir, but Amir has the potential to reach Millsap.
Millsap is better at rebounding, better wingspan, but he is undersize at 6-8, while Amir is 6-10.
I personally think Amir is better at pick and roll, he is quicker.

Amir has been in the league 5 seasons, 3 of which he played extended games and has yet to cut down on his fouls or show an offensive game enough to crack big minutes.
At best he improves to a rotation big on an actual winning team, he isn't likely to miraculously improve and become starting or even big minute quality.

Like I said, Amir definitely needs to cut down on his fouling rate, but his PER is identical to Millsap's, and if you look at the pace-adjusted per-40 numbers for this year, there isn't a huge difference (aside from the fouls, which I'll admit can be problematic if Amir was starting, but not if he's splitting time off the bench, and at his age, it's not like he can't improve). I really like Millsap, but given Amir's younger age, size, defensive impact, the fact that he likely won't make close to what Millsap is now, and that he is likely to come off the bench and not start (since we have Bargs starting), Amir becomes a much better option for us.
