Post#1 » by Evermore » Thu Jun 17, 2010 7:14 pm

Pacers ---> TJ Ford, Dahntay Jones, Josh McRoberts, #10 pick
Pacers <-- Darren Collison, James Posey, Kris Humpfries

Hornets --> David West, James Posey, Darren Collison
Hornets <-- TJ Ford, Dahntay Jones, Yi Jianlian, Keyon Dooling, #3 pick

Nets --> Yi Jianlian, Keyon Dooling, Kris Humpfries, #3 pick
Nets <-- David West, Josh McRoberts, #10 pick

Indiana: they get their PG of the future in Collison while Posey provides solid veteranism...

Collison/DoolingX/Price
Rush/Posey
Granger/DunleavyX
MurphyX/Hansbrough/HumpfriesX/JonesX
Hibbert/Foster

New Orleans: they bring in some additional Xpiring contracts while landing Favors with the 3rd pick...

Paul/FordX
ThorntonX/Jones/PetersonX
StojakovicX/WrightX
Favors/JianlianX/SongaliaX
Okafor

New Jersey: they bring in New Jersey native David West to upgrade their frontcourt offensively while the 10th pick should provide them with a decent prospect for their core...

Harris
Lee/CDR
Williams/CDR
West/McRobertsX

Do the Hornets insist on Rush instead of Jones?

Do the Nets offer a TE and hold onto Dooling?

Some tweaking could definitely be done to this trade...but for the most part it's a workable deal for all involved

The biggest question is whether or not the Nets would move the pick...

Lots of intriguing possibilities available at #10...so I think they might have to roll the dice here

How so?

They're giving up West and Collison...and really only getting back Favors + Xpiring contracts

Is Favors that good?

I don't watch the NCAA...so I wouldn't know

I do know people are super-high on Collison though...

No from the Nets. West is a one-year rental who will be looking for a big payday next summer, when he can opt out. That's not worth adding salary and trading down from the #3 (looks like it could be Turner), to the #10 (Udoh or something).

Like I said...

I don't watch the NCAA...so I don't know much about Favors

I would've thought West + the 10th pick was decent value

Every player looks for a big payday...but they don't always get it

With West being a Jersey native...I would think he might sacrifice a little dough to stay close to friends and family -- albeit for only a few seasons until the Nets move to Brooklyn

Also, Yi will not be traded, according to our new owner.

Yup. Awful for the Nets.

It seems fair for Indy, and NOH would jump on this. But the Nets don't consider this.
