Utah - Minnesota - Orlando - Miami - OKC

Post#1 » by babyjax13 » Thu Jul 1, 2010 9:15 pm

This is a reworked trade that I posted earlier. I have expanded it which probably makes it less realistic, but I think it should be more interesting than the original.

Miami Trades
Michael Beasley

Miami Receives
Brandon Bass

Miami cuts just enough salary to be able to sign 3 max free agents while still getting a good role player back for Beasley.

Orlando Trades
Marcin Gortat
Brandon Bass
Mickael Petruise
2011 Orlando 1st

Orlando Receives
Carlos Boozer
Ryan Hollins

Orlando fills out their depth chart on the cheap and adds the perfect complimentary player to Howard.

Minnesota Trades
Al Jefferson
Ryan Hollins

Minnesota Receives
Michael Beasley
2011 Orlando 1st
2011 Memphis 1st (top 14 protected 2011, top 10 2012 … )

Minnesota won't be getting Rudy Gay, but Jefferson still isn't the best fit for them. In this trade they get a guy who can be a post-up small forward ala Carmelo Anthony and play some spot minutes at power forward. They also add two first round picks for Kahn to play with next year.

Utah Trades
Carlos Boozer
2011 Memphis 1st

Utah Receives
Al Jefferson
Marcin Gortat

Jefferson and Gortat are a lot better front line defensively than Boozer/Okur even if Al isn’t stellar. Part of his problem though has been playing out of position since being traded to Minnesota. If he moves back to power forward he should at least be average, and his one block per game (two for his career) are a lot better than what Boozer offers. Along with Gortat he should help to somewhat limit the Lakers front line.

Oklahoma City Trades
Nothing

Oklahoma City Receives
Mickael Petruise

OKC uses their cap space on a player that helps spread the floor and hit open shots created by Durant.

That just doesn't make sense at all for Minny. Never happen, we don't want beasley at all, he is a negative, brain issues...

This doesn't give Miami enough room for 3 maxes; they pass. Also, Miami would not want to see one of their backup options in Boozer off of the table to the Magic...horrible.

I don't like that deal but I could see Kahn doing it.

I'd do it for Minnesota. A decent prospect, a huge TPE (remember, Hollins goes in this deal too) and TWO 1st rounders isn't a bad deal for Al at this point.

Two low first round picks plus Beasley, get rid of Hollins for Al Jefferson? Meh. but it's better than a lot of other offers/ideas I've seen floating around here.

Yeah, I just abused someone who was suggesting just Beasely for Al in another thread. This thread on the other hand I think is actually reasonable. I'm not sure if I would do it, but reasonable for MN.

Unless those picks are unprotected, and in the lottery, they are not very useful. We certainly won't get anyone with Al's talent picking down in the 20's with Orlandos pick, and with protection the Memphis pick sucks, as we won't get it...

Miami vomits at the mere prospect of this. WTF? You don't clear enough space for us, and we suffer a serious downgrade in talent. That's a huge pass for Miami...
