Cavs & Pacers

Post#1 » by HomieOmey » Sun Jul 4, 2010 6:28 am

Kind of ugly trade, but

Mo Williams and Jamison

for

Ford and Murphy.

Pacers: Get a PG improvement for one they could care less about.

Cavs: Save some long term cash. Get taller up front, and more athletic.

I dont like this at all for Cleveland. Realistically all they have to do is sign or trade for a SF who can put up 15+ points and they should still be a factor in the East. Not a finals team, but could be a 6-8 seed.

I'm trying to figure out how this makes the Cavs more athletic. Cavs pass however.

I don't know if Cleveland Declines but the Pacers are coming out of cap hell so they say no to Mo and Jameson, I'd rather let Murphy and Ford Expire!

*which means they'd be going nowhere and drowning in red ink and the luxury tax. Any team that has Jamison/Mo Williams as their top 2 players and Hickson as their top prospect is destined for an extended period of mediocrity.

No idea where you get this luxury tax talk from. The Cavs are under the luxury tax unless they add signifcant salary (Both Z and Shaq expired). In fact, if LeBron leaves they are slightly under the cap.

As a Pacers fan, get the hell outta here with that.

What's the idea for the Pacers? Where would Jamison play? He's not a PF. Granger is the SF. George is a rookie at the swing position. Dunleavy, Rush, and to a lesser extent the 2nd rounder Stephenson is there as well.

Mo Williams is just a waste of money. Better to wait out a Randy Foye and sign him for a 1-year deal at the end of the summer, or get Farmar for one year than to be stuck with Mo's 3 year deal.

Nothing about this is a good idea for the Pacers, and actually locks them into the lottery for the next 3 or more years. There's nothing right now on the Cav's the Pacers could/would make a trade for. Maybe Delonte's non-guaranteed deal, but there's no other filler to go with him, and not really anybody to dump right now since they're all expiring anyway.

Yeah.....pass....the Cavs gambled and decided to take on Jamison and his longer contract. Now that it looks like Lebron is likely heading out of Cleveland, they want to jettison their long term contracts.

The only long-term contract that I would consider taking on would be Foster for Sideshow Bob. Everyone else...pass.

Hey now...let's lay off the city of Cleveland. Some of us still have to live here!

Haha...yeah, the city's really not too bad. Get rid of some of the corruption, and maybe the city/county could be rebuilt a little bit and start taking a stride forward, but other than that, it's got a lot of the same feel of other midwest cities like Indianapolis, St. Louis, Milwaukee, etc.
