WHY FOR THE PACERS?
1) Get a stopgap PG while not foiling 2011 cap plans.

WHY FOR THE HAWKS?
1) Acquire a needed 3rd big in Murphy who rebounds and stretches the defense.

It's not terrible, but look at those lineups...the Pacers need Murphy much more than the Hawks do. Doubt it happens for that reason.
