cant see NOH doing this without getting Okafor off the books. that said, Orlando would take Okafor if it meant getting Paul.

That trade is terrible for NOH. Even if you swapped Okafor for Posey it would still be terrible for NOH.

Way to good for Orlando. Bobcats would simply offer:

Dampier(non guaranteed), Nazr (expiring), DJ, Gerald Henderson, Derrick Brown (prospects), future 1st

for

Paul, Oak, Posey

That deal is way better for the Hornets. You can count on the fact that we will not help with any deal where another team gets Paul unless we are robbing somebody.

Bobcats still have enough to contend.

Paul/Livingston
Jackson/Hughes/Carrol
Wallace/Tyrus Thomas
Tyrus Thomas/Diaw
Diop/Oak

OP, Augustin isn't a rookie.

The Orlando deal is way better then that Bobcat's one because Jameer is better then anything the Bobcats offer. The only problem is if NO is trading Paul they would definitely not want another good PG to come in since they have Darren.

Orlando Deal:

NOH TRADES: Chris Paul, James Posey

NOH RECEIVES: Vince Carter, DJ Augustin

Charlotte Deal:

Dampier(non guaranteed), Nazr (expiring), DJ, Gerald Henderson, Derrick Brown (prospects), future 1st

for

Paul, Oak, Posey

tranjSAIC your comment doesn't make any sense. The Charlotte deal is way better because NO sheds more bad salary, saves more money right away but waiving Damp, and gets more young prospects on rookie deals plus a pick. Also the OP is a Damp vanishing act.

I don't get how it doesn't make sense, you are getting an allstar level point guard on a cheap contract who also has proved he doesn't fold in the playoffs. Plus your getting another good scorer who is basically an expiring contract. Sounds good here, plus I'm sure if there was any truth to these Paul deals I bet the Magic would be willing to take on Okafor and give NO draft picks too.

In the OP Jameer goes to the Bobcats not the Hornets. NO isn't going to like the deal better because of Jameer if they aren't getting him!

Neither of these deals work because Dampier cant be traded with other players for 60 days

Easily split into two deals. Might have to add Najera to make the salaries work out but that wouldn't be a big deal.

That.....

And the Hornets can get several good pieces for CPaul rather than whatever spare bits
