Eddy Curry to Indiana

NY trades
Eddy Curry
Toney Douglas

IND trades
Troy Murphy

Knicks does it to get a big that can play in D'antoni's system and get a few picks in return.

Pacers do it to get a PG.

I would do it from the Pacers. Would the Knicks?

Edit - I removed the picks. Watch NY fans come in here and say Douglas is worth way more than Murphy.

I think the Knicks would do it for Dunleavy, but not for Murphy. And you can probably take out the 1st if you throw AJ Price into the deal.

Murphy can land way more then Curry.

You need to add Douglas as an incentive for someone to take Curry not the other way around.

Knicks commit highway robbery with this trade.

If you are serious about pulling off a Curry trade it won't budge past Curry and Douglas for Ford, S. Jones and D. Jones.

No draft picks! Nothing else involved.

WTF?

Murphy will PLAY...can DO GOOD STUFF.

Indy's PG issues are NOT a shortage of BACKUP level PG's,they want a GOOD pg.

In this.....NYK has to be the ones sending picks ,assets, something. Murphy>>>>>>>>Eddy. Ironically, Murph would be a bargain replacement for Lee. That would be something,to get a big overpay for Lee then grab Murphy on the cheap.

Kicks would be better off to just hold onto Curry and deal Felton next year and keep Douglas as their backup if they can land Parker. AJ Price ain't gettin traded to NY. He could turn out to be better than Douglas.

I'd do Solomon Jones, Mike Dunleavy, and 2011 2nd for Curry and Douglas. I understand Douglas as the incentive to take on Curry, but you have to think of it from NY's perpsective too. They would be better off to Hold on to both than to get just Murphy for a season. Pacers would have to throw incentive back to get Douglas. I think either trade is fair from both teams. Maybe instead of tradin the 2012 1st, jut give NY the right to swap picks.

BTW, I would trade Murphy for 2nd round pick. He is a cancer.

Yeah, WTF?

Murphy > Curry. Contracts are similar, but Murphy is actually a starting caliber big man whereas Curry is dead weight.

Murphy for Curry + Douglas straight up wouldn't even be fair because Douglas' value isn't enough to make up for the disparity between Murphy and Curry. Having Indy include picks is just laughable.

The Knicks have 8 forwards on their roster. Their best 3 players are all ideal PF's (aka Murphy's position). Why on earth would the Knicks even need to do this much less include assets? Toney Douglas is their only other PG besides Felton.

Try thinking about it from the Knicks perspective.

Troy Murphy would be their best big behind Stoudemire and can play the 5. He would play just as good, if not better under D'antoni. He is also in a contract year. He is tryna get paid.

And it's posts like this as to why you have about as much credability in trade idea's as I do.

Why would he play better under D'Antoni? SSOL doesn't mean stand around and chuck 3's...you know that right?

And why would the Knicks play Murphy over Gallinari and Randolph when its just a lil obvious they have no use for resigning him? Doesn't matter if statistically he's fine. Isiah Thomas statistically won every single trade regardless of whether it made any sense or not (and most of them did not). This one also does not.

And this is the 2nd Murphy to NY trade proposal in 2 days from 2 different (I'm guessing) Pacer fans. If Murphy is so good why the interest in moving him? If he was a cancer, why would it be ok if the Knicks had him? They haven't had enough cancer types (Marbury, Francis, Jalen Rose, Penny Hardaway, Larry Hughes, Mo Taylor, etc.) already in the past 10 years that they need to get another one?

It's just a really bad trade. Valuewise, it's terrible for Indy. Chemistry-wise, it makes no sense for NY to add Troy Murphy.

He doesn't play D and just stands around the 3 point line all game.

Really man??? Your credibility is getting less and less every day on these trade forums. It's like you're just posting to see how many posts you can get in a day regardless of how absurd what you say is. You have like 700 posts in a few weeks (maybe a month), a lot of them which are crap posts like this. What's the deal?

I think he is just lashing out because Lil Boosie is about to get a death sentence.

Incorrect. Murphy's a good passer, has a nice midrange game, great rebounder, and plays within the team structure well. The reason he's out at the three point line is because the coach wants him there and doesn't want to use his other abilities. You can't blame Murphy for that.

As for this trade, Indiana would want nothing to do with it. Murphy has more value than this and could net a better deal either now or at the trade deadline. It's doubtful that that the Knicks would want to do it either, not because they wouldn't want Murph, but because they already have Amar'e, Randolph, Turiaf, and Mozgov to occupy the PF/C minutes.
