San Antonio and Sacramento: TONY PARKER

Post#1 » by The_Commish » Thu Aug 12, 2010 10:26 pm

Spurs Trade: Tony Parker, Antonio McDyess
Kings Trade: Samuel Dalembert, Jason Thompson, Beno Udrih

- many saying George Hill is ready to take full control of point guard duties on the team. He has a little bit of pressure taken off, or put on since Beno could become their starter if he outplays Hill.
-Sammy D is the best player to put beside Timmy D because of his great defensive down low.
- Thompson is going to be a very good replacement for Duncan in the near future

- Kings solidify their lineup with a great PG to play with Tyreke.
- Keep a good backup to teach Cousins and Landry a few things.

If you take out JT, Sac would do it since Parker is going be a 1-year rental.
However, I don't know if SAS would do it without JT.

Does Parker make the Kings a contender? No
Is he a longterm solution? No (not w/ his contract)
Does he fit with the Kings? No

So WHY are the Kings making this trade?

I'd rather go for Ginobili and leave Evans at PG. What would the Spurs want in such a deal?

Honestly you guys have no one we'd be interested in.

And we'd never do the OP's trade, we have no need for Dalembert or Thompson.

I would do dalembert for Parker but that's about it. The guy is a rental and isn't the type to resign with the kings.

The original deal is insulting.

Lol an expiring Parker isn't worth much to a team that isn't competing in the playoffs. He's nothing more than an expiring to the kings. So take this weak offer back to San Antonio.

No for the Kings. I would not give up two of our bigs expiring or not for another expiring. If we traded away Daly and Thompson at this point, we would end up with Cousins, Landry, Mcdyess (who doesn't help us) and Whiteside as our bigs. Whiteside isn't ready yet and that's why we need to hold onto Daly, and Thompson.

I see the kings keeping Landry, they will pay him, dalembert walks if we don't trade him. Kings have to keep atleast 1 of Landry and dalembert in addition to Thompson whiteside and cousins because whiteside isn't likely to be ready for a while.

Likely big rotation next season.

Landry/Thompson
Cousins/whiteside
