No more comparing Melo with Roy when they're both on the same team.

Portland Sends: Miller, Batum, Fernandez, Oden
Portland Receives: Anthony, Lawson

Denver Sends: Anthony, Lawson
Denver Receives: Miller, Batum, Fernandez, Oden

Depth doesn't make contenders as much as a loaded starting 5 does. Portland contends by consolidating talent.

Denver receives a bunch of young talent (Batum, Fernandez, and Oden) for Anthony who is rumored to be leaving Denver anyways.

This trade isn't completely serious, as I know Denver and Portland are in the same division. I'm just really bored. Thoughts?

what will likely happen is that both team's fans will say no to this deal

You can swap Fernandez for Bayless if you want, but the Lawson for Miller swap needs to be in there imo.

The Nuggets only consider this if Melo is a lock to bolt. And if he's a lock to bolt, the Blazers won't consider giving up a single asset for him unless he's locked into a long-term contract. To that end, there are FAR too many complications for this idea to be taken seriously.

Blazers don't do this if Melo capable of leaving.

I'd be all over this if it came with an extension. No extension no chance in hell at Oden, Batum maybe.
