Does Houston take a gamble at winning ship this year??

Houston out- Yao Brooks Jordan Hill J Jeffries and 10.5 in trade exceptions

Houston In Billups, Anderson, Melo Al Harrington

PG.Billups/Lowry
Sg. Martin/ Chase
SF Melo/ Battier/
pf Scola/Harrington
C. Anderson/ Hayes

Pretty balanced defensively and Offensively can score with anybody. Good Floor General and plenty post options.

Denver out Melo Billups harrington anderson

Denver In - Yao , Jordan Hill, Jared Jeffries and 10.5 in trade exceptions.

Saves a lot of money both instantly and long term.. Gets a very good prospect Hill. And takes a gamble on yao high risk high reward.

I doubt Houston would give up that much for an unextended Melo.

I could see...

Yao
Either Hill/Patterson/Budinger/Williams or Lee
pick or two
for
Melo

TE
for
Anderson
maybe Balkman

No need for Billups or Harrington.

If Denver included Nene, I could see the Rockets adding more value.

Eh, I probably wouldn't go for this as a Rockets fan. I'd drop Billups/Brooks out of the trade and be only willing to take on one of Birdman or Harrington. Would also take on Balkman if it's Birdman. Although I'd definitely do the original trade if I thought Melo was staying.
