Bucks also get 1st round pick from Hawks.
There are Bucks and Hawks fans who love this trade. How about others?

My only problem would be that the hawks would be left with only boykins as a point guard

Do the Hawks want a C that bad that they would take on
Gooden's 5yrs, Maggette's 3yrs & Salmons's 5yrs, have no PG next year?
Why don't they just get ont next year.

Too many BAD contracts to the Hawks. I counter
Smoove / Teague / 2011 First
for
Bogut / Boykins

Bogut for Smith outright sounds better.

I think this is why Atlanta would decline. Bogut is good but he is not worth taking on all those extra contracts while giving up Smith, both Crawfords, Teague, and a 1st.

What...... Hawks should not have to give up Smith (swap him for Williams) and swap Bibby for Zaza.
Bibby/Boykins
Johnson/Salmons
Smith/Maggette
Horford/Gooden
Bogut/Thomas
How much better is that team? PG is still the biggest weakness. Maybe include a third team taking Smith for a PG? (Suns get Hawks first + Smith for Nash) :O

as trwi7 would say.....LOL
Smith would quit in Milwaukee, need to send him to a 3rd team
maybe Tito could beg Atl to send Al to his old team?

So that Hawks fan who posted at Bucks forum is not representative of majorities opinion from Hawks fans. I thought so. It is too much money for anybody to take on.

Yeah, its very unlikely that Hawks ownership would be willing to spend that much. Even then, you're left with 1 PG (Boykins) on the Hawks. As someone already said... I don't think that would work.

Bring this to the Hawks board so we can talk. We're taking on money but we're giving it out, as well. The net is that - in your offer - the Hawks would take on about $3 million. That's hardly "too much money for anybody to take on." The only true negative is that the Hawks would go into the LT NEXT YEAR, because Horford's contract increases by $6 million then. Gooden and Maggette's deals go up slightly while Salmon's GOES DOWN each year.
This version is the extreme case, based on showing just how Bogut's presence would help us. It doesn't have to be so extreme.
However, this present deal leaves the Hawks with a much better starting group and a better bench. Bogut/Horford/Williams/Johnson/Whomever is better than what we presently have and a bench of Gooden/Maggette/Salmons is better than a bench consisting of only Jamal Crawford.
The #s are daunting but
I think this creates a contender - at probably the most reasonable price the ASG will find.

The Hawks would only be spending $3 million this year - and would stay under the Luxury Tax.
Next year, they would go about $6 million over but for a contender.
Bibby is aging right before our eyes. He's only good for about 15 minutes. He plays longer but he's terrible the rest of the time he's on the court. We've been going with Jamal Crawford, instead.
