Thoughts on the 30-Team Trade Article?

Post#1 » by W_HAMILTON » Wed Feb 16, 2011 6:55 am

Here's a link to a theoretical "30-Team Trade" that works financially and is supposed to be "designed in fairness to all:"

http://basketball.realgm.com/article/21 ... Looks_Like

What do you think?

As a Charlotte fan, I think it's a pretty bad deal. I don't think any CHA fans consider Thomas's contract encumbering, and I doubt any of us would do that proposed deal. I haven't jumped on the Kwame bandwagon like some, but I still would probably take Thomas and Brown before either of the three players we would be getting back.

Well, I can tell you that Miami declines. Solomon Jones is just another useless big, we have plenty of those already, and Eddie House is actually a rotation player and has come up big in games for us already.

Yeah, I thought I remembered seeing this before. I thought maybe it was just a repost of that article, but it seems to be new. Maybe its an annual thing?

Spurs say yes !
Shaq on Duncan:SA won because of TD, a guy I could never break.I could talk trash to Ewing, get in D-Rob's face, get a rise out of Mourning, but when I went at Tim he’d look at me like he was bored and say:“Hey,Shaq, watch this shot right off the glass.”

The Mavs would probably say yes to the Harris part.
I'd rather just keep Haywood around over Gooden tho.

Well, even though Dallas would pass i have to say good job for constructing such a big trade and to come up with some motivation for each team. The worst return of all teams is credited to Indy IMO.

PS: Pretty sure LAL can't trade for Vujacic at least during this season so this trade would be illegal.

I don't know, but I actually love your pic.

PD: Great trade for the Lakers, OJ Mayo AKA "the next one" and Marc Gasol AKA "I'm not soft" sound good!

I think sac passes. Jameer Nelson is not the answer and Garcia isn't just a spare part.

Orlando passes. Jameer Nelson > Jose Calderon and Earl Clark is emerging as a nice prospect so I wouldn't do Bass + Clark for Andre Blatche.

Pistons get hosed, Tay and Stuck for Thabeet? We have a pretty productive young center and it sounds like MEM is trying to give Thabeet away.

Knicks Receive: Carmelo Anthony, Earl Clark

Knicks Send: Eddy Curry, Anthony Randolph, Wilson Chandler, Kelenna Azubuike

Knicks accept and then dance through the streets of New York.

The Heat have about 10 crappy centers right now, why would they make it 11 and also force the awful Carlos Arroyo back into the rotation?

I think the Bulls would accept the Lee + Moon for Brewer + JJ. It seems pretty lateral though.

Teams that rape: LAC, LAL, Toronto
Teams that this is a slight upgrade for: Boston, Cleveland, Bucks, Minnesota, NYK, OKC, Portland, SAC, SAS, Wizards
Teams that have lateral trades: Chicago, Dallas, Phoenix, 76ers, Jazz
Teams that this is a slight downgrade for: Atlanta, Charlotte, Denver, Detroit, GSW, Houston, Pacers, Miami, NOH, Magic
Teams that get raped: Memphis, Nets

Creator of the trade is obviously from LA.
