I don't get how someone like Kobe could be #8 on that list when he makes over betwn $25-30 mil per year and the other names not chosen yet like Wall and Love have contracts whose entire sum is less than what Kobe makes this season alone. On that same note, I think Griffin should be #1 on the list. Also don't see how players like Dwight and Chris Paul who may very well leave next year has much value, not to mention that where they do re-sign will be giving them butt loads of mony making their value lower.
My guess is people confuse "best player" with "trade value"
I'm voting Kevin Love.
Nominate Westley Matthews.

True, but if you want to go even deeper into the economics you could talk about all the increased ticket sales, jersey sales, media attention, etc. that a superstar like Kobe brings a team that someone like Love wouldn't.

Well it's a balance between young and old teams. Obviously teams like the Timberwolves and Cavaliers would rather have Wall or Love than Kobe. But every team over 45 Ws would place huge value on Kobe I think. Cause you put Kobe with even a lower tier all-star like Aldridge or Horford and you have a legit chance at a title this year. Obviously teams like the Spurs and Celtics and etc. wouldn't think twice to take Kobe over Wall
