Atlanta / Clippers

Don't make proposals often, but there are too many Philly threads up here so let's change it up. Don't know if this has been tossed around yet, but these two should be good to shuffle some pieces.

Clippers trade: Kaman, Gomes, Bledsoe (Childress TPE)

Atlanta trades: Marvin, Teague, Zaza

LA gets an athletic upgrade at SF in Marvin to run with Blake until Aminu develops, keeps their depth at C, and gets a PG of the future for when they dump Mo Williams.

Atlanta gets a center to take the pressure off Horford, a stopgap SF who cuts a bit off Marvin's deal, and a backup guard to replace spot minutes.

IIMO, Teague has a much brighter future than Bledsoe, which is why this makes sense for me. Not sure how Clippers fans feel about him, so that may be a big sticking point.

Think Kaman and 2nd for Iggy is a better trade ;-)

Wow, didn't know 5 games took him up to that level. I just didn't see another way for the Hawks to improve and take that next step. Sorry...

Well it isn't just the 5 games alone. Us Hawks fans knew we had something in Teague, he just never got time, so we were unsure in the product(Not me & a few others though :D)

Yeah - I am tired with the pointless Iggy threads too.

Lets not start on the Marvin to LAC threads either. We really don't need him. He is not the SF we are looking for. He may be a great player, but not what we need.

As for Bledsoe, please consider him off limits. He is a stud - even if only Clipper fans accept this. Nobody will be willing to pay the price we ask so why bother?

I know we are all tired of Kaman threads too, but they are not pointless as Kaman is actually available. We are looking for a solid SF who is worth a former allstar Center in a league devoid of starting caliber Centers. If people are bored, they should work to find an acceptable new home for the expiring Clipper bigman.

Surely, there is one team in this league that needs help up front.

In all seriousness? OK.

Acceptable SF's that as part of a package will net Kaman (in order too)...

1. Granger
2. Gallinari
3. Chandler
4. Batum
5. G.Wallace
6. Iggy (not anymore)
7. Deng
8. Wes Johnson
9. Battier
10. Ariza
11. JJ
12. Jefferson
13. Gay
14. Beasley
15. Prince
16. Hill
17. Kirilinko
18. Pierce

That's 18 guys that could actually net a starting Center (and maybe much more like a top 5 pick in a solid draft). I simply refuse to believe that Kaman is not worth any of these guys.

Okaaaaaaayyyyyy(Puzzled look of not knowing if you are serious) :noway: :noway: :noway:

You might get Grant Hill, RJ, Ariza, and a drunk Kahn's Wes Johnson.

You did not ask who I thought would be traded for Kaman, but who was acceptable to me as part of a package. That I gave you.

To suggest that only Hill, RJ and Ariza are options is just not correct. If you add the 2012 unprotected pick into the equation and factor in Kamans expiring, there must be others.

Wes Johnson would be fine, but not for the return of the pick. I already suggested Johnson and Rubio for Kaman and the pick but was "politely declined" by mature Wolves fans.

Kaman will be traded and many posters here will be astonished at the actual return we get.

No - it was a sly strike at Minnesota fans actually.

I like Minnesota, but they seem to have a somewhat strict overvaluation of their players. Sorry Portland and Philadelphia fans - some of you suffer from these same issues.

Let me be clear...

Iggy is not a superstar. He is a $15M overpaid SF that is no threat from deep.

Rubio is a head-case PG with a skillset that barely keeps him in the Euro League. He is about as far from a proven talent as the NBA has ever seen.

Batum, while a solid SF, is not worth selling the farm over. With Wallace on the squad, he simply cant be used effectively. That won't make him any happier than Fernandez was earlier this year. Just like Kaman, Batum is becoming a dead weight on his squad.

I also suffer from the same problems in that I think Kaman should be in the NBA and has some value based on his size and skillset. Clearly I am wrong - just as I was wrong that Kaman is a former all-star center. Apparently, he was not. Or maybe he just sucked Stern off to get in.

In addition, I believe that the Minnesota pick will be top 3 and thus is worth something valuable. I never realized that the Wolves will "win 6 more games next year" and that will make them 5th pick instead of first. Again - my mistake.

I am also wrong in assuming the Clippers actually need any of those players. We really don't. There are other SF's available in FA that don't cause half as many headaches but provide just as much production on the floor. I was just trying to be nice by providing what I thought those teams needed - a true Center. My mistake - i'm sorry. It won't happen again.

Once again - blast away. Its beat up the Clippers week and everybody is invited.

Sigh. You have to keep saying Kaman's an all-star because you can't say anything else good about him.

He's not a good defender.
He's not a good shot-blocker.
He's not a good postup scorer.
He's not a good passer.
He's not a good mid-range shooter.

Yeah, he was an all-star ..... and your team seems desperate to replace him with Jordon.

I think it is kind of hard trying to sell a guy who has more injury plagued seasons than actual AS or better yet quality season's for what you want. About like trying to sell a SF with actual solid starters skills, but no chance to really showcase those skills.

Marvin for Kaman would be the only acceptable trade for the Hawks, but other than that, the Clippers should just hold onto their scrubs.

So even my Hawks / Clippers thread moves to Iguodala bashing? Seriously, what's wrong with you people?

Sigh x2. This is why I get frustrated.

A. Kaman was an all-star. Last year in fact. It was not that long ago.
B. Kamans defense is pretty decent. It may be below average, but his scoring is above average. Defensive Centers are a dime a dozen. Offensive 7 foot centers are very very rare.
C. Kaman almost averages 2 blocks a game. He knows how to block shots and changes the trajectory of many shots. I know because I have watched him for 8 years.
D. He is a postup scorer. Traditional back to the basket scorer in fact. Watch him one day.
E. He is an above average passer for a Center. Not great, but not terrible either.
F. He is an excellent mid-range shooter. Have you ever seen him play? Seriously.
G. We are looking at Iggy. He is no Jordan. In fact the only similarity Iggy has with Jordan is that they both get paid megabucks.

Let me guess. Kaman is crap because he is a Clipper. Same old ****.

Why do you keep bringing him up? The guy is talking about Kaman, the trade is about Kaman. You're the only one "looking at Iggy."
