Should The Magic Try To Trade For OJ Mayo?

Post#1 » by WillyJakkz » Mon Dec 12, 2011 4:17 am

Wouldn't it make sense for the Orlando Magic to step in and offer PF Ryan Anderson who has a 2012 QO worth $3.3M to the Grizzlies for G OJ Mayo (who we'd use our TE to acquire)?

Memphis obviously is looking for a FC who can spread the floor somewhat (in FA Josh McRoberts) and Ryan Anderson fits the bill.

It'd give us (the Magic) the option to make a QO to OJ in 2012 ($7M) while also SAVING US from re-signing 31 yr old SG Jason Richardson thus still giving us the financial flexibility we'd need moving forward w/ Dwight Howard (HOPEFULLY) or not AND it prevents an Eastern Conference team from getting better.

I don't get it, I think this is a better deal than a S&T of McRoberts for Mayo plus it makes more sense imo.

Thoughts?

I think Mayo's gone to Indy for McRoberts.

I mean think about, this trade already happened, it just got submitted too late and with talks reportedly back on you'd have to assume it would be accepted again.

Exactly my point.

I think Ryno is a better player than Josh and maybe if we offered him, Memphis would jump on Anderson instead.

The trade hasn't taken place yet, they're in talks last I'd seen.

Last I read/ heard is Richardson will be re-signed Monday (tomorrow).

I thought they just agreed to terms.

Hell, we pull of this trade Otis can tell 'em "Ay, sh*t happens."

Nothing is going to save Orlando. Dwight wants out of East. To the Lakers.

Firing Otis Smith and hiring a competent GM would be a good start.

If OJ Mayo is the answer, you're asking the wrong question.

Not necessarily. For example, "Who has the GOAT hairline and will never go bald due to his perfect genetics?"

Yeah, as much as i would like to see OJ Mayo-Dwight Howard pick and roll situations. Howard has made it clear that he wants out.
OJ Mayo , Michael Jordan , Allen Iverson.
