With center Marcus Camby choosing to return to New York, the Rockets agreed to a sign-and-trade with the Knicks on Monday, acquiring guard Toney Douglas, forward Josh Harrellson and center Jerome Jordan, along with second-round picks in 2014 and 2015, a person with knowledge of the deal confirmed on Monday.

Rockets milked some value out of the Knicks, but the Knicks get the guy they wanted, so win-win, imo.

Win-Win.

Not too happy with that non-Power Forward, Douglas, being a part of this deal. Thankfully the Knicks are paying his salary so we can use that money on more power forwards.

Good deal for everyone except Toney Douglas. There is no PT for him on that Rockets team- he doesn't fit into what Houston is trying to accomplish personnel wise.

No poll to add? Off to the bar...

Love it for Houston. For the Knicks, Between Chandler and Amare playing the 5 it isn't a big need, can't call it a win there. Especially as I wouldn't want to be committed to 3 years of Camby for 13.2m. 1 year sure, 2 years maybe... 3? no.

Okay, well, I get to add it to the list of deals. :)

I'm curious how Houston's offseason ends, but despite not liking the Lowry trade (at all), I think they have had one of the better offseasons. They took a direction and didn't half butt it. Atlanta is still winning, and Miami might also be ahead of Houston.

How many players does Houston have on their roster now?
37 or so?

Why not?

Both Lee and Martin will likely be dealt. (As will Scola for that matter.) We have no point guard other than Livingston who might get traded or cut. Lamb might be the the only SG on the roster once Martin and Lee will be dealt. I highly doubt the Knicks won't match Lin's offer-shett.

Our depth chart looks something like this.

[Asik] G.Smith Harrellson J.Jordan
(Scola) Patterson Motiejunas White T.Jones Leuer Brockman
Parsons Morris
(Martin) (Lee) Lamb
Douglas Livingston

And yes, this was a very good deal all around for both teams.

Attention to details:

John Hollinger ‏@johnhollinger
Rockets now have six non-guaranteed contracts and Livingston's partial, totalling $7 mil in confederate money to use in trades.

Good trade for both teams. Knicks get the player they wanted that Houston had no plans to re-sign and who they could likely lose for nothing.

The Rockets get 2 unprotected 2nd round picks and three young players, two with un-guaranteed contracts and the Knicks are paying Douglas's salary.

The real question is, how many PFs does Houston have on their roster.

They got a bunch of nothing for Camp, good deal for NY IMO.

The fact Houston got anything for Camby is a positive. 2 2nds never hurts, Toney Douglas can at least fill an end of the bench guard spot, but Harrellson should be the best piece. However, they already have 21 PF's and need to move Harrellson elsewhere so that they don't end up just waiving him for this to be a raving success for the Rockets.

He might be their starting center.

That's true. I guess he's one of the only PF's they have that can step up to play center....
