Yep you guessed it.

Rumor out of Salt Lake City is that Jazz are in serious discussion with SAC. The rumor is:

Watson, cash, and possibly the GS pick for Jimmer.

Here is a tease tweet by Spence Checkett, radio host of the Jazz's station.

They are talking about it on 1280AM. Sorry no other links at this time since I am at work.

Sounds like for just the man, the myth, and the legend... Jimmer.

I'll take Jimmer for that package.

If I was The Kings I would take this and run. Jimmer isn't that good he's basically Matt Carroll. Let him go back home to Utah and live off his collage fame. That Warriors pick could be worth it's weight in gold the way that team is run. I mean they have no direction and a bunch of guys who can't stay healthy.

It would take a hell of a lot more than the GS pick to snag Evans. In this scenario the GS pick is arguably the top asset, but in an Evans trade it would have to be 2nd best (maybe 3rd).

I tend to think little of "rumours"...I don't know what the accuracy rate is, but I'm sure it's not high!

In any case, I can see a Jimmer trade happening, but I wouldn't give up that Warriors' pick for him. There's still a decent chance that's a lottery pick, and I wouldn't swap it for a guy who has mostly disappointed since Day 1. If it were closer to the deadline and I had a better sense of where the pick would land and what prospects might be there, then maybe. Until then I'd rather stay flexible.

Utah already mismanaged that pick last year. If they proceed to throw it in the trash now, I am going to burn down the ESA.

I knew there had to be a reason why the Warriors tanked so hard. How did Utah cause them to lose games?

Possibly, but it's not an insulting offer by any means.

LOL.

The pick (was protected to 7, not sure where after this year) is right in the same range as Jimmer went at 10.

The act is, beyond the obvious marketing bonanza that Jimmer is for Utah, the book really is still out on him. He had no SL, no real camp and a shortened season with a coaching change for a rookie year. Add to that the fact thatheshould flourish in a system like the one runin Utah and this looks not just even, butpossiblya big win for Utah.

Lol, Kings take that and run so hard, Petrie might be able to suit up for the Kings after such a workout.

Gee, I dunno...Maybe by beating them? Utah lost both the GS pick and their own by a matter of a couple games. Obviously, there would have been no guarantees, but trading Al at the deadline likely results in Utah keeping both picks. Instead, the FO decided to chase after a royal asskicking in the first round, just so they could put a playoff label on the team. If the goal is to sell tickets, then they did just fine. However, if the goal is to build a team capable of making a run at a championship, not trading Al at the deadline was probably a crucial mistake.

If they were serious about building a contender, they would have accepted one more year of rebuilding. Sometimes the timing of a trade is more important than the trade itself, and yes, I believe Utah dropped the ball on their rebuild last year. We'll have to wait until we see what happens with the draft next year, unless they do something stupid like trade that pick for Jimmer. Then we'll pretty much know they screwed the pooch.

We all know of your unhealthy hate for Evans, but can you at least try to be realistic here? I mean, the mere fact that the rumor is that that pick can snag Jimmer (whose value is miles short of Evans') should show you how naive your post is.
