Propose ur deals to upgrade Steve Nash's backup. Right now im comfortable with the backup 2,3,4,and 5 spots but we desperatley need a better backup PG especially since Nash will only get around 30min a night in the regular season. So fire away and we'll work out the details and see if we got a deal.

Steve Blake and Earl Clark for J.J Barea?

In this deal, the Lakers only add about 200k over the next 2 seasons and I don't think paying Barea in 2014-15 is a big deal. Minnesota would do this to clear space in 2014-15. Minnesota might wait on this deal so Rubio can recover and to try to get an expiring deal instead of Blake.

If Minnesota insists on expiring deals, LAL could substitute Duhon for Blake if Minnesota adds a 1st, which they could try to sell on draft day. Nevertheless, LAL would still add money if this happens because of the luxury tax hit.

Yeah its been discussed before and im sure theyd want Duhons deal instead since he's non guranteed next year so he's essentially an expiring...i like Barea tho and id pull the trigger fersure.

That's terrible for Minny. Barea was arguably the 7th best player for a championship team. They're not ready to dump him for sub-NBA talent yet, or ever for that matter.

Beno Udrih wouldn't be a bad fit since he's not super happy in Milwaukee. Maybe Duhon + Hill for Udrih would work after December 15th. Skiles does love him some Duhon. Not sure that works or if you guys would want Udrih. Hill would be a lil redundant on our team too.

Agree--Barea is a really really good offensive player. He penetrates at will, is a good finisher or kick-out man and he can shoot 3s. And despite his size he doesnt kill you at the other end. No way Minny gives him away for scrubs.

We won't sacrifice Jordan for Udrih. Never ever.

I think Laker fans need to chill on the trade hopes. Blake and Duhon will be fine when playing 12-18 MPG. Its when they are forced to play above 20 MPG like Blake has had to the past 2 years there is when you get diminishing returns. No one wants those 2 while giving up a better player to begin with unless LA is coming off of Jordan Hill which would be stupid.

Translation: The value doesn't work, lets take value from a third team to make it work.

You have Houston giving up a partially guaranteed salary in Livingston who could either be cut on the cheap, or possibly effective as a backup. They then take back a small forward who won't see playing time behind Parsons & Delfino and a backup point guard owed 4M the next two seasons whom you clearly think is inferior to the PG on the better contract you are bringing in.

Edit - holy crap! Didn't know that was how much Udrih was making this season. At least he is expiring. Doesn't change the fact that it is really bad for Houston.

How can I forget? Or his 35 point game @ MSG.

Dude is not much of an offensive player but is really athletic as can be and is shackles on D. Easily an upgrade over Blake/Duhon and can stick most of the points in the league.

I like the 1st deal for the Lakers and Denver. I'm not sure if Phoenix would say yes. Since they signed Dragic I think they'd consider this deal.

Will Bynum was pretty bad last season so I'm not sure if he's an upgrade over Steve Blake. The Lakers would also lose their backup SF so I don't think they make the 2nd deal.

If the wiretap article is accurate that the Lakers won't take on extra money than the 3rd deal won't work. If money was not an issue, Orlando would probably say yes even though they just signed Nelson and the Lakers could then try to sign Kenyon Martin or Chris Andersen.

LOL, a very average (at best) backup big, a fringe rotation player, and a third string PG for a starting-caliber PG to come off the bench PLUS second rounders? Lakers do it in a heartbeat, taking on extra salary or not. The franchise makes so much money that money isn't really an object if you're talking about a few million here and there for the next couple seasons in return for added bench depth at a position where quality depth is necessary. That could spell the difference between a championship and another second round exit. They definitely take that kind of talent upgrade. I've got to say it would be a pretty savvy move for the tanking Magic, although Duhon cannot be moved back to Orlando for a year, since they just traded him.

Damn u right i forgot about the no re-acquiring deadline...pretty much ruins the deal then.

Yeah PHX just dealt Lopez so they dont really have a backup big for Gortat ..plus Frye is out too. I think Koufous is a better position defender then Mozgov but Mozgov has the better contract. Also Telfair i thought kind of renewed his career last year in phoenix and was playing well.
